I just bought a 1994 suzuki RF900, i was told that the previous owner purposfully drained the oil to have some minor damage looked at. So, naturally I tried putting oil in her and it all leaked out th

It does appear to me that the crankcase must be holed somewhere. That is the moist likely reason the previous owner drained it (or rather it all ran out). I would have a good visual look at the crank case to see if there is an obvious hole. If it is damaged then it would obviously need a new crank case but first, take the fairing off and have a look.

1999 HD Softail standard was leaking oil from the side oil tank opening on the side of the bike, what could the cause be ?

Hi Anonymous, the engine oil dipstick on Softail and Sportster models is located on the right hand front side of the oil tank and the Harley Bible says, engine should be at normal operating tempurature, let idle on jiffy stand for two minutes. Shut off engine and hold bike straight up and dipstick all the way in, correct engine oil level will be at the top full mark. Do not overfill oil tank as this will cause engine breathing issues. On Dyna and Touring models The engine oil dipsticks are located on the right front top corner of the transmission and the engine oil pan is underneath the transmission. The engine oil level is checked in the same manner as Softails and Sportsters. If you are having oil carryover or breathing issues (dipstick launch) try running oil level half way between the add and full marks, running the engine at this oil level will not harm normal operation. Good luck

Right hand cylinder on my rd200 not firing properly, the bike will run, starts perfect, exhaust gets warm on right hand side but no power to ride, any ideas?. have put in new spark plugs, leads and caps,...

Assuming you properly cleaned the carburetor low speed circuit.check the list below.
1.Check the compression on the right hand cylinder.
2.check your points, pull the point cover off start the bike and watch the points if you see bright sparks at the contact point the condenser is is bad.
3.If your constantly getting an oil fouled plug the right hand crankshaft seal is leaking transmission oil into the crankcase.
4.check your fuel flow from that line to that carb.
Hope this helps you determine whats going.

2005 Vegas Ness oil change. I bought the bike used so I don't have a repair manual or owners manual. I just want to change my oil but would like some guidance. Thanks!

Look under the motor and you will see the drain plug. I think it takes a 6mm allen. drain the oil and remove your filter, just like on your car. Your bike should take 5 qrts. make sure you put oil on the new oil filters rubber seal and get it hand tight. after you have replaced the oil plug and filter , pull the dip stick over on the right side and look for the full mark and put the oil in. Put the oil stick
all the way back into the motor, and pull it and check it. Check for leaks and ride safe.
