Miss fire, poor running after about 8 miles?

Hello, i have a zx9r c1 ninja.  it starts ok on choke & once out of the village i turn the choke off, it runs fine.  after about 8 miles i slow down for a few bends but when i start to increase throttle it splutters & holds back. if i then put on full throttle it then takes off again. it can be like this for the rest of my journey ( 12 more miles).  i have changed the plugs, air filter & checked the coil resistance ( fine).  i thought it might be old petrol but after putting in new super unleaded its still the same. this has happened for a while but yesterday it hapened again but this time when i came to a stop it stalled & when i was traveling along if i turned the throttle off it sounded as if the engine had stopped fireing all together. can anyone help?

Make sure your vent in the gas tank is not stop up.Make sure your fuel punp is putting out the right amount of fuel .You can check the vent by taking off gas cap But make sure you only have about half tank of gas. When it stard to dothat; put your choke on If it run better you know it in the gas.My vt1100 did that with me and come to find out it was in the carb. But you need to check these thing befor you go to carb along with checking your gas filter.Hope this help you

My zx9r c1 1998 keeps blowing rear stop / tail bulbs

Hi smithydean
First just to make sure do a mutimeter test across your battery with the bike running should be around 13.5 volts, 14 would be suspect (check you manual), If ok and the is no looseness around the light body it may be as simple as changing the brand of bulb to a better named brand, I have gone through 2 of these in the last couple of months myself. Stay away from cheap globes mate they don't stand up to vibration and jaring delivered by sports bikes.

take a look at you plug wires and cap if they are worn it could cause the spark to short, and yes a sync never hurts.

I have not used my bike for 1 year. i have put new fuel in and charged the battery. she turns over but won't fire. Its a ZX9R c1 model.

Have you cleaned the carbs out? This is the #1 problem with bikes not starting after they sit for a while. Check your plugs as well as they may need changing too.
