Hi, Ewan my gut tells me you may have a faulty wire connector for the handlebar wiring harness, corroded, loose or broken pins or a loose ground if all those things use the same ground lug/connection

Fzr 600 tail light wont work

Hi, Michael tail light issues are relatively easy to diagnose and repair and the usual suspects are:
1. Tail light bulb element is broken.
2. Tail light bulb soldered contacts are extremely worn down.
3. Tail light bulb socket corroded.
4. Tail light bulb socket has no power and or ground.
5. Tail light wiring harness damaged from the rear tire.
6. Tail light rear fender wiring harness connector faulty due to corroded, broken, or loose pins/sockets.

Taillight and blinkers don't turn on but brake light and blinkers work

Hi Rcarp125, sounds like you have a rear fender tail light wiring harness issue. Check that harness connection for corroded, broken or loose connector pins, repair as necessary using a dab of dielectric grease. My headlights and taillights aren't working on my 2005 Hayabusa, I have signal and brake lights only.

The wires that powers your head and tail lights are 2 yellows (one going in the fuse box and the other going out towards the high beam headlight), a White and a Yellow/White wires. Need to check them if the are "live". Also check the Orange wire that goes from your key switch to the fuse box. Also there is a Brown wire that goes from your key switch to your tail light. That should be "live" too when you turn your key ON. The wires I mentioned to your key switch, all are powered from the Red one on your key switch that comes from the starter relay. If the Red is dead then you start from your starter relay.

I have a 99 harley ultra classic. the rear tail light has 3 wires, black, red and blue. the black i figure is ground cuz it was grounded on the oem tali lamp, but the blue and red i cant figure out. i have...

I would suspect that the black is still ground and the red goes to the red from the bike and that the white is for brake switch when you press the pedal or lever. Hook it up that way and see what you get. Good luck.

1998 valkrie wont turn over

Your battery is most likely the cause. The tail light and dash light do not draw much juice from the battery. However the headlight and starter are a different story. Are you absolutely sure you turned everything off before you took your break? If you are and you don't ride your bike a lot you should get a trickle charger for it. Use it when not riding. It will prevent you battery from completely losing it's charge thus protecting the battery.
If you do ride often then you should have the battery tested. You may need a new one. Remember that once a battery has been drained too low, permanent damage can occur.
