Hi, Ben you may have triggered a fault code that's keeping the bike from starting for this situation I would call my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix, answers, or parts inquiry. If necessary transport your bike to the dealer or shop and have a professional technician take it for a test drive, if it is in running condition, and give you a written estimate of repairs and answer any specific questions you may have about your issue. For more information about your issue please visit the website below. Good luck and have a nice day.

Oil Light blinked instead of check engine

Interesting. It could be that the circuits are shorted out inside the instrument cluster. The oil light should be on when oil pressure drops below 5psi. Oil level in the engine would not have a direct effect on the warning light unless the engine was empty.

How do i reset the oil change warning light

Mazdas are bothersome to say the least when it comes to resetting service lights. It took me a lot of digging to find out how to clear my Mazda6 service light and I believe I saw something for an RX8 on my travels that went along the lines of turn off ignition but don't remove the key, hold down the trip reset button and turn the ignition back on for at least 10 seconds or so and the maint rqd light should go off. I think to force the car to recheck other issues which have been repaired, turn off ignition, remove key, locate and remove the ECU fuse in the fuse box, turn on the ignition to the point prior to turning the engine over and leave it for 10 minutes. Turn off ignition and reinsert the fuse and turn the ignition back to II or the point prior to starting. It forces the ECU to check stuff again and I believe this would clear errors and not service indicators.

2007 Road King Classic stalls unexpectedly when driving...no sputtering, just shuts down...starts back up whether stationary or driving...but no warning about cut off

Will the bike start up without turning off? If you have to turn ignition off then on again before it will start it may be the bank angle sensor gone faulty. This will set NO error codes in memory as it is NOT a recognised fault. ECU simply thinks bike has fallen over and shuts engine down.

Retrieve codes for 2003 road king

1. Remove right side saddlebag and side cover if so equipped. Remove protective plug from data link connector.
2. To activate the diagnostic feature, proceed as follows:
a. Create diagnostic test wire or use a female spade clip.
b. Install diagnostic test wire across Terminals 1 and 2 on the data link connector.
c. Turn Ignition/Light Key Switch to IGNITION and wait approximately 10 seconds (4 seconds lamp ON, 6 seconds lamp OFF) for check engine lamp to start flashing.
3. All trouble codes are sent out as a series of flashes. To retrieve the first digit of the trouble code simply observe the number of times the lamp flashes.
a. The lamp will then flash one or more times to indicate the first digit of the trouble code.
b. The length of time the lamp is illuminated and the length of time in which it is off are each about 0.5 second in duration.
4. The second digit follows:
a. Following the transmission of the first digit, there is a 1.2 second pause in which the lamp is off.
b. The lamp will then flash one or more times to indicate the second digit of the trouble code. Count the number of times the lamp flashes to retrieve the second digit.
5. If more than one trouble code is sent:
a. Following transmission of the second digit of the first code, there is a 3 second pause in which the lamp is off.
b. Once all codes have been sent, the data string is repeated. When you have recorded the same trouble code twice, it is an indication that the transmission has been restarted and that all trouble codes have been retrieved.
IMPORTANT NOTE ..If diagnostic test wire is installed across Pins 1 and 2 on connector in lieu of a Scanalyzer, the ECM is placed in a diagnostic test mode and the engine will start. The test wire must be removed from the data connector and the ignition switch turned OFF or the check engine lamp will continue to flash codes. A historic trouble code resides in the memory of the ECM until the code is cleared by use of the Scanalyzer or a total of 50 trips has elapsed. A "trip" consists of a start and run cycle, the run cycle lasting at least 30 seconds. After the 50 trip retention period, the trouble code is automatically erased from memory (that is, assuming no subsequent faults of the same type are detected in that period). The numbers after the 'historic' or 'current' is the speedo code number, but without the electrical diognostics manual you're peeing into the wind.

Yamaha yellow engine warning light on YZF R125

Hi, Anonymous, if your ECU believed your engine was endangered of being damaged it would go into "LIMP" mode 5-10 mph only, it should be noted that the reasons your EFI light stays on constantly or flashes and your bike will or will not start and may turn over or not, these conditions will vary from bike to bike depending on the year, make, and model and you should always refer to your owners/service manual for proper diagnostic procedures. It should also be noted that any type of prior work done to the bike or an abnormal event occurrence IE: adding accessories, electrical curiosity/adventures, laying bike down/crashes, rainstorms/bike washings just before EFI light issues started can be significant hints/aids into tracking down the gremlin, also carry the appropriate jumper wire to access fault codes to reduce the risk of being stranded or towed, that being said the usual suspects are:
1. Faulty Fuel Pump, fuse or system relay switch.
2. Battery starting to fail due to old age/damage, perform a load test.
3. Discharged battery, check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
4. Faulty switches/sensors: run/off, ignition, clutch lever, neutral, side stand, tip over, fuel, and or their connections.
5. Broken wire or worn insulation exposing wire to a ground situation especially inside wire harness at tight bends around fairing brackets, under dash panels, under fuel tanks over cylinder heads etc. Many harnesses are open on the ends that will allow water to enter and accumulate at v-bends.
Dielectric grease and contact cleaner are your best friends for wire/cable/harness connectors, look for corroded, broken, or loose pins/sockets.

Truck will be running fine, then all of a sudden it will completely shut off. After we wait a few minutes and pump the clutch and make sure it is all the way to the floor it will start, sometimes. S

You need the engine computer scanned for fault codes, i thank you have an ignition control problem like a module or distributor pickup coil issue. These parts whenthey fail should leave fault cdes so get them read.
Next, the check engine light will pause shortly followed by the second digit of the trouble code. For example if the check engine light blinks once and pauses followed by six blinks the trouble code number would be 16. If no code is present the check engine light will stay one constantly. To restart code gathering turn the ignition key to the "off" position, wait three minutes and turn the ignition key back "on" again without starting the engine. Remove the jumper wire once code gathering is complete. To clear code after the repairs have been made remove the negative battery cable for one minute and reconnect.

The orange engine warning light is lit and the engine surges between 4,000 and 5,000 rpm

The first step is to delete the fault code:
Disconnect + wire on the battery for one hour. Turn ignition ON but do not start the engine. Leave it on so the throttle resets automatically. Turn ignition OFF and then start the engine as you normally do. Go for a 15 minutes drive, Audi reccomends to not let the engine idle, go for a normal drive so the ECU reads the values from all sensors again and remaps the ignition and fuel timing. If after all this the Engine Service light stays ON the engine needs to be diagnosed by an Audi workshop as it could be a lot of things, from a faulty coil pack, to an oxygen sensor or maybe a coolant/air temp sensor...

The bike was stolen, replaced the ignition lock, now won't start

well it depends on what kinda of bike your talking about.like on my cbr600rr it has a tip over switch which wont send spark to the engine and you have to replace it.some bikes you can just reset the ecu.i would get a service manual and find out how to reset the ecu and also see if it has a tip over switch.
