i have had many of these bikes in the workshop with electrical mechanical ive even had to reweld frames my advice to you is sell and get a ktm or apache as these bikes never quit giving out problems and imm suprised a bike if its 2005 has lasted that long /the fix for your problem is if the battery is new charge 16 hours at 1-2ampers via trickle charge check that the bulbs are correct watts for the bike as they are not uk standard and if you dont know the age of the battery get a new one and charge as above

Hi guys, having an issue with my 09 530 exc, I just dropped the oil out of it, was starting off the battery just fine before, but after the oil change I'm getting nothing out of the electrics, no horn, lights, blinkers or electric start. It will kick start just fine though. Any suggestions what I might have done to cause this? I checked the fuse and it looked fine, swapped it out anyway. Also checked with a friends battery and still nothing.

Electrical problem please help yamaha r6 2001

Hi, Jason I used to live in Marlow Co. Buckinghamshire back in the day now I'm retired living in Florida yep-yep you need a wiring diagram, forget about finding the source of the problem unless you have nothing better to do, instead splice in a separate wire from the turn signal module/flasher to the indicator light in the speedometer also you may need a load equalizer for this scenario you will need your service/owners manual if you can't find the first and best tool you ever bought for your Yamaha, despair not, for a mere $0 you can download another one. Yamaha xjr 1300 electrical fault oil light comes on with headlight

Just sorted my problem with oil light coming on when lights are switched on. Removed the back off the clocks and realised there was a missing oil light bulb, and the holder was out of place. It was the light from the dash light coming through the hole for the oil light which made it look like the oil light was lit. put new bulb into oil light holder and all back in place everything now working 100%. Happy days !!! Hope this helps

DT125 no electrics! non starter

how about replacing the fuse by the battery it is a master fuse and thats what it sounds like
since all lights and bike runs after a bump it sounds like a master fuse problem
if not check your batterie ground it might be cut or loose

2002 honda shadow 750 - won't start

sounds like you killed the starter relay. If it takes a lot to start a bike eventually the contacts can weld themselves "open" causing the starter to continue cranking which would explain the sound you heard at the red light.

1986 Honda Shadow vt1100 does not start.

I don't know if this will help but just for GP the 85/86 Shadow are famous for electrical problems. If it is damp and you havn't cleaned the plugs not spark plugs the connector plugs on the wire harness it may have some buildup of that green stuff like a car battery does some time. On mine I ended up changing the coils and the electric fuel pump. You may have a problem with your stator also. Well this is just stuff I would check if it were mine. I got an 86 that runs as good as any of the new bikes that my friends have and just as fast. I hope this helped some.

Bike wont start battery is ok 12.5volts lights dont turn on fuse ok what can i check

Test the battery voltage while you are trying to start the scooter. The surface charge can be over 12v but under load drop to well under 9, indicating a faulty battery.
