2000 faser 600, When started its fine revs well, it is restricted! At higher end revs performs well but when pulling off or accelerating at lower speeds I have it misfire, may only be firing on two and not the normal 4? I've remover the carbs and cleaned them! Some potential dirt and gunk!! Jets cleaned and replaced... At first when the engine was cold it was great but as soon as she heated up the problem came back? I rode home on the motorway.... Faster and she was fine but still at low revs this issue persists? HELP PLEASE???

SOURCE: Misfire and backfire at low rpm, runs rough at low rpm

You did not say whether or not this was a carburater engine but from the sound of it one of your jets may be sticking, a good cleaning of the jets will most likely fix the problem, the likely cause is a small build up or piece of debris on the jet.

SOURCE: 2003 WR250 F - eng. won't idle down and carb starts to overflow

Hi Jwelden,
Have you checked the float level in the float chamber?
I guess you may have to reset the float pin adjustment, its allowing more gas to pass through thn required and thus the overflow!
Not bad too, when you are working on the float assembly take the opportunity to blow out the fuel line from petcock to the carburator via the seat for the float pin,any foreign particals there would stop the float pin to seal up and thus overflow.
Fit in an inline fuel filter , this will help keep out the dirt or whatever.
Hope this helps.

The fuel tanks are common to rust through, maybe that is where the dirt is from.

SOURCE: Kawasaki gt550 won't start from cold! even with choke!!

when you get the bike started you need to adjust the pilot air screw. here's how= turn in clock wise until engine falters(mark that spot with a pin)then out counterclock wise until the engine falters(mark that spot also) then put the screw in half amount adjustment of the two marks.that will take care of if it is to lean or to rich.make sure the engine is good and warm before doing so.

Only revs up to 3000 rpm changed throttle body didn't help changed fuel filter didn't help no power above 25/30mph need suggestions

Possible restricted/plugged catalytic converter causing exhaust back pressure to be too high. You will need a back pressure test performed to see if this is the problem. You can also remove the front oxygen sensor and try revving the motor to see if the exhaust leak created with the sensor removed will lower the back pressure and allow the engine to rev higher

Performance.

If the fuel filter is an item you suspect then I'm assuming the service history is a bit sketchy!! If so then I would definitely throw some new filters and plugs at the vehicle to start with. In my opinion though, if the fuel filter were your primary issue, it would restrict fuel flow and pressure and hamper acceleration throughout the rev range, especially at higher revs when the fuel demand is higher.

You could have a problem with a sensor, such as a throttle position sensor which isn't metering fuel correctly until your foot is flat! This should be evident in your fuel consumption.

My suggestion is a good service and then a diagnostic check for fault codes to guide you in the right direction. The service would be preventative maintenance but don't spend money on expensive components blindly- get it diagnosed correctly so you aren't shooting in the dark!

Here's hoping the service sorts the problem out! Good luck...

2000 gsxr600y Flat spots and rough running at 8 and 11 thousand rpm, won't pull passed 11000 from 4th gear up as running so rough

Full disassemble of carbs is needed. Thorough cleaning on jets and airways, vacuum and pilot screw adjustment must be done too.
Check the spark plugs for lean mixture indication and replace them if necessary.

2003 yamaha fzs 600. Just over tickover and accelerating (low revs) the bike start to miss fire, but clears as the revs gets higher and goes just as well as always. Have removed and cleaned carbs,...

Did you remove the pilot jets from the carbs? You have to remove them and ream them with a small peace of wire or compressed air. Hold them up to the light and make sure you can see thru them. Make sure the jet is completely clear, the hole should be nice and round with no obstruction.

Starts just fine but dies at idle. will keep running when stepp[ng on gas pedal

if the car runs fine at high revs, I suggest just turning the idle revs up 150ish, it could be a block cat converter, or restricted airflow making it die. but quick fix turn revs up 150rpm will do no harm and if it dies at higher revs, take it 2 the garage to see if they can find the thing.

I cleaned the carbs and after putting them back on the bike idles at 7000-8000 rpms and wont go lower, it will rev higher and just go back to 7k-8k

Must be throttle sticking .
Check , Cable at carb end is in holder ,
Cable is not kinked,
Cable at handlebar end is properly in slide,
Pistons in carbs are free to slide
There are no obstructions in carbs.
Try, Disconnecting cables from carbs ( if your bike idles , its the cables)
Removing air intakes and looking down the carbs with a mirror and torch ( slides should be seating almost closed)

Acceleration trouble

the harder you drive your car the quicker you wear out parts and wearing out of parts causes decrease in performance.so technically yes it does eventually "kill" it.
