Thank you Thomas. I forgot to mention I purchased the car from a dealer who said he just got it in from Chrysler because he is a `good' dealer?

see if you can get the service log book for services or get a record from the dealer where the services were done

might be in the glove box

the service log will reveal the speedo reading

I believe that it is illegal to interfere with the speedo reading when offering a car for resale and you should chase it up

if the speedo has been altered then the true mileage is a guess as it could be 100.000 more than on the clock

I feel that you should research the car and speak to the original owner or company as they will also have records of the services

Much as you love it , that feeling will vanish when you find out that it was really a lemon passed on by sneaky salesmen

Check engine light came on. but my question is at what intervals or mileage does my truck need what types of recommended maintenance .

you can either buy a maintenance book for your car or go to the library and see if they have a book there for you car and photo copy the intervals for maintenance.generally oil changes every 5,000kil,tune-ups every 60-80,000kil,transmission service every 80,000kil and don`t forget about checking things such as brakes, air filters, fuel filters, etc.

Not really a problem - I bought the 2000 Altima with 145,000 miles. Running great. But, are there any maintenance logs with the various servicing schedules/components/time intervals available for that...

You create your own with all your vehicles

Treat them all the same & keep a log book

You should be doing a lot more than anything
out there especially MFG Scheduled Maint
Follow that alone you will break down

My citroen nemo multispace is one year old diesel version dealer informs me it has to be serviced now to keep three year warranty but service book states service interval of two years or 20 000 miles....

service scedule is 2 years or 20k BUT ALSO ANNUALLY.for low mileage users.if you did 20k in one year then the service schedule is right.dont argue with the dealer, hes the one doing all the warranty work and you will need it..........peugeot/citroen came near bottom for reliability.....

Service engine soon after a transmision problem repair

These two events are probably not related. The serviceengine-soon light just means that the vehicle mileage is approaching a service interval.

The concept is when this comes on the vehicle is taekn to the shop for its routine service and the mechanic resets the light.

If you have an owner's manual you'll find the service intervals -- the mileage is approaching one of those intervals.

ST3 Q&A owners?

1. Is that tank steel - will it hold a magnetic bag? Steel - I use a bag that mounts to the fuel filler and does not touch the tank. 2. What mileage do you get when touring, not thrashing? City, low light comes on at 125 miles (stop start 20 mile commute) takes 4.0-4.2 gals each fill. Highway, light comes on 150-170 miles, same fill. 3. What is the real fuel tank capacity - full to fumes? Never experimented with it. Book says just over 5, I have never put more than 4.7 in it. 4. What are the recommended service intervals? 600 mile and then every 6000 5. How expensive has dealer service actually been? 600 about $320, 6000 about $600 depending on work 6. Fun factor? Lots
