Headlight and indicators of yumbo dakar 200 (2004) not working

I have a yumbo dakar 200 cc motorcycle (2004). The headlight and indicators are not working. The battery is not recharging. The tail light and the horn works until the battery runs down. A mechanic once suggested that a rectifier is needed. If so, where can I get a rectifier for my bike? Thanking you and looking forward to your response.
Oh! I use a rectifier presently, but the above mechanic said its not hte correct rectifier for it.

F650 Dakar 2001. lost high beam so replaced bulb but still no go, is there any easier way to access plug and cover other than fingertips.

Hi Anonymous, if your headlight is not working, keeps burning out or is dim the first thing you need to check is the headlight bulb for damaged filaments then check your light circuit fuse, that being said the usual suspects are:
1. Faulty ground or power supply wire to headlight bulb socket.
2. Worn, chaffed, or broken wires in the light circuit.
3. Corroded, broken, or loose pins/sockets in wire connectors.
4. Faulty hi/lo beam switch.
5. Faulty ignition switch.
6. Fuse is good but no continuity on both sides.
7. Faulty wiring between battery positive and headlight bulb socket.
8. Weak charging alternator/generator.
9. Faulty voltage regulator/rectifier, overcharging.

Is there a safety switch on yumbo bikes to keep it from starting with the start button

As far as I know, there is none. You might want to check if the choke lever is set to on because if it is, it will only try to start then die.

I have a 2005 yumbo cruiser street bike the oil drain area is crosstreaded what can I do to fix this

there are 2 solutions one is to tap the hole for a new plug

and the other is the go to your local auto parts store and

ask for a Oil-Tite Self Tapping Oil Drain Plug .

You will need the old plug to find the correct size .

I noticed sparks coming from the exhaust of my Ford 500. It has under 30,000 miles & i had an oil change a few days ago.

Welcom to fixit.com your 2004 Yumbo Dakar 200 Motorcycle has sparks comming from ehaust.... it could be metal from your engine,I know it sounds dumb but did you check the oil, make sure they put it back in, or it could just be you spark arrester starting to fall apart. Hope this helps !
