Question about 1985 Yamaha XJ 700 X Maxim
I have a 1985 Yamaha XJ 700 Maxim streetbike and I am having problems. You can get up in the morning and try to turn the bike over, but to no avail. If by chance it does try to start, it backfires and sounds like a shotgun went off and only hits on the inner two cylinders. If you take the IC Ignitor box off and warm it up, it cranks right up no problems and hits on all four cylinders. I was told that the IC Ignitor box was bad, if you hook it up and it cranks, its okay.... If you hook it up and it don' crank, its bad.... If anyone has had this problem, please help....
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
