Question about 2003 Yamaha YZ 250

Throttle Cable Stuck Wide Open?

I just bought a 94 YZ 250 from a buddy and the throttle wire cover was broken so i replaced it and now have noticed that the throttle is stuck wide open, making it not pull back on the wire? The person i bought it from told me all it needed was a new cable and cover but i think the cable is fine. Ive never taken apart the carbs on one of these but know there somewhat simple.

After reading your post i took it apart and the spring seems to be fine but the cable is really hard to pull threw making the little spring just way to weak. I'm going to get a new cable tomorrow and put it in and see if that fixes my problem, witch i think it will. I cant figure out how to unhook the cable from the throttle valve though, I'm hoping the dealer ship will show me how to undo it when i go and order a new cable. Thanks lots guys

I spun my throttle all the way around trying to fix a tassel and I felt a slight tug. now motorcycle is stuck wide open when you crank it up. throttle cable is not broke

may be your throttle assembly has moved round a bit
and has snagged the throttle cable
you sometimes also have a throttle cable adjuster somewhere
along the cable the outer housing may have come out of its location

Rs50 alitalia throttle stuck on full revs

Hi, Anonymous you either have a throttle cable that needs lubrication or it is so contaminated with dirt/rust it needs replacing or your carburetor slide is stuck and needs attention and I am sorry you can't find the first and best tool you ever bought for your Aprilia but despair not for a mere $10 you can download another one. Your bike will only run at full throttle if your cable or main jet needle are stuck in the full throttle position .Take your throttle cable off and check that its freely working inside the outer caseing .
