Flicking standby my samsung sp42w5hfx starts of with the standby flicking than tv gos on than gos off and the standby starts flicking again

It sounds that there is some short circuit with its SCL-SDA rail, at its main digital circuit board. It will be best to contact any service technician, as troubleshooting the main board is a skilled work.

Sounds like you may have some capacitors going bad. If it is a high end TV it may pay you to take it to a repair shop.

Hi there mine has started doing the same thing today, on other hitachi models it is a serious fault warning, i will come back when i find out more.

Replace your STK ics both of them. STK392-040 go by number on parts

sounds like the lower y-sus buffer! take off the back and give me the pcb number should start with Lj92

It either has a sticking switch (usually caused by using cleaning solutions on the screen) or the power relay is faulty or the remote control is faulty.
Take the batteries out to check the remote.

well when the blue light is on and ur tv is on standby, just use the channel changing button, simple!

Its hard to tell without actually knowing where the smoke came from. I doubt that any of the CRT's (bulbs as you say) caused the issue.

Here is what going on. This is a internal fix. You need to do a small voltage adjustment. There are 2 controls. Your VS adjust and your VA adjust. Maybe your VE adjust. Look inside the panel there will be a sticker with the correct voltage. Just adjust accordingly. Be very careful. These are very important adjustment.
