Question about 1987 Yamaha FZR 250
I'm not sure if it is a fuel problem (seems likely), but my son has an fzr250 that won't rev out. It seems to be starving for fuel. I've checked and bypassed the fuel pump without success and feel now it is either low on compression and won't draw fuel or the float levels are too low. I think it is the latter. However, I'm at a loss to figure out what they should be and how to set them. Can you help?
Depending on if the bike has been sitting you can check this out a couple of different ways. First hook a vacum gauge to motor. If your readings of vacum are low you may have a tight or burnt valve. If engine is ok i would lean towards the carbs.
