After checking and replacing the vent going outside still the air was not venting and inside my drier everything was wet although the air was hot. After removing the rear panel i saw the blower belt disconnected. it took me some time to get the belt on but everything is ok and the air is venting and clothes getting dried. Also note that the little pulley came off its positio too.

Several items to check. Most common is, how far is it from the back of the machine to the "outside"?
All over the country, wherever electric dryers are used, houses and apartments are being built that are "dryer unfriendly".
Your dryer needs no more that 3-4 feet to the outside, and very little or no vertical air flow.
Your dryer motor is not really made to push the hot air up a pipe.
Second is, how wet are the clothes that are being put into the dryer? If the washing machine begins to go bad, it leaves too much water in the clothes, and the dryer takes forever to dry them.
Third would be the amount of heat the dryer is producing.
Without a load in the dryer, turn it on "Hot" and see if the air that is coming out in about 3 minutes is "scalding".
If it is not, your heating element may be starting to fail.
Be blessed

SOURCE: My Miele T8322 Tumble dryer

IS THE DRYER PUSHED UP AGAINST THE VENTING IN THE BACK OF THE DRYER? IT MAY BE CRIMPING THE EXHAUST MATERIAL CAUSING A RESTRICTION.

IF THAT IS O.K., DISCONNECT THE EXHAUST AND RUN A LOAD OF LAUNDRY THROUGH A NORMAL DRY CYCLE.
IF THE DRYER DRIES THAT LOAD O.K., THERE IS A RESTRICTION SOMEWHERE IN THE EXHAUST. ALSO, CHECK THE LINT TRAP. IF THERE IS A WHITE CLOUDY FILM ON THE LINT FILTER, TAKE A WIRE BRUSH AND CLEAN IT OFF. IT IS RESTRICTING THE AIR FLOW AT THE FILTER.

CHECK THE LINT FILTER HOUSING FOR A BUILD UP OF LINT. IF THERE IS, USE A CENTER CARDBOARD FROM WRAPPING PAPER ATTACHED TO THE END OF THE VACUUM HOSE. FLATTEN THE CARDBOARD TO FIT INTO THE FILTER SLOT AND CLEAN OUT THE LINT.

If you are using Fabric Softener Sheets than look in the dryer closely for one to be wedged in a fin or anywhere inside .They will make the streaks you mention. Please rate this !!!

SOURCE: Dryer air heats up but does not dry the clothes. Just replaced the timer but did not fix the problem. Air vents are cleared.

One of two possiblities:

1. Dryer vent is blocked - check the air coming through the outside vent
2. Blower Fan is clogged - remove the lower front panel and clean out the fan wheel

SOURCE: my dryer takes long time to dry the clothes. It

Check the following areas thoroughly to address this issue.

1. Venting
Make sure the dryer vent hose, as well as the rest of the vent duct, is not clogged.

Unless regular maintenance is performed, chances are there is a lot of lint accumulated inside the dryer. This might affect the drying time and could be a fire hazard. Make sure to have your dryer cleaned regularly. Because this might involve taking most of the dryer apart, it is recommended to have a qualified appliance repairman perform this task.

2. Thermostat
There are a couple of cycling thermostats inside the dryer. If one of them breaks down, it might affect the dryer's performance. Replace the defective thermostat.

3. Heating element
A heating element might only be partially burned out, in which case it would still work but will take longer time to dry the clothes. Replace the element if found defective.

NOTE***(This unit is equipped with a dryness control board. if all points above check out ok, replace this board).

My DWJR-ELE-2406026-FM54 dryer is getting hot but not drying the clothes. Even after 3 cycles they are still damp, not warm at all. What would that be?

Ventilation, check the vent hose and the vent pipe and the damper outside for restrictions probably clogged with lint. If the moisture can’t escape the clothes won’t dry.

May tag Neptune dryer forming moisture inside tub

Moister in the dryer:

This means that the moist air is not escaping correctly and that is why it is taking so long to dry your clothes - if they dry at all.
a good start at cleaning out lint blocked areas, I suggest go to the back of the dryer and take off the vent pipe or hose and check things out with a flashlight. Clean out all the lint and dust you can, even use a vacuum cleaner on it. Make sure the vent pipe is completely clear of any obstructions.Non-rigid ventshas much worse air flow than smooth piping, so you might want to upgrade tosmooth piping.
Once you have all the lint and dust cleaned out of the dryer, go to where the dryer vents outside. Again, clean the area thoroughly. There is usually a trap door that opens when the dryer air is on and closes when it is not operating. It should be completely clear of lint and opening smoothly.
Also, look into the exhaust area on the dryer carefully to see if there is a hole or gap in the dryer's internal air ducting. Without the vent pipe connected and with no clothes in the dryer, start it and let if run for a few seconds and make sure there is strong air flow from the exhaust port. You should feel it strongly on your hand.
Re-connect the vent pipe and start the dryer again. Feel all around the bottom to see if any air is blowing out from under the bottom. This would indicate there is a break or gap in the dryer's internal ducting. If you do feel air, you will need to call a service technician to see if it can be repaired. If your dryer is very old, there could be a rust hole in the duct.
In conclusion Cause ·Poor venting is a common reason why water might leak into a clothes dryer. Since the dryer works to expel moisture, it is important that the dryer's vents are properly installed so that the humidity can escape.
Effect ·If the humidity in the dryer is trapped, it will eventually turn to water. This will lead to poor drying results or longer drying times, depending on the amount of leakage.
Prevention/Solution ·Faulty dryer venting can be prevented by making sure that the humidity is directed outdoors. Also, vents should be cleaned of lint and other debris before each load so that water can readily escape. Taking these precautions can ensure that the moisture will meet dry, open air.

It takes two hours or more to dry clothes

Hello tront... begin by clearing the lint from the vent pipe and the outdoor end of the vent pipe. This alone will cause the dryer to take hours to dry the clothes. Joe

The dryer does not "dry"

its probably not your dryer, have you checked your dryer vent hose or your vent pipe to see if there is blokage from the lint.some home's the vent pipe runs vertical to the roof top and the lint after time clogs it up.even if it runs horizontal it still need's to be checked this happens all the time you can use a higher power shop vac to clear the vent pipe,or you might have to get a small 25 ft drill snake and go from the roof down.

Dryer takes 3 runs to dry clothes.

first of all check to see the vent pipe is clear of lint right from the dryer to the outside. put your hand over the outside vent and see how much air flow there is. you may need a heating element as well.

My dryer has heat on the inside of it but it is not drying my clothes. i have to run the dry cycle three times.

You need to make sure your exhaust is not kinked or clogged up any. If the dryer does not have good air flow, it will not dry good.
Best way to check this is to remove the exhaust line from the back and dry some cloths with it off.

Heating but doesn't dry clothes

Yes, that would be a venting issue.

Make sure that the filter and filter compartment are clear/clean, and then locate where the pipe exits the wall. They usually clog right at the vent exit, especially when they have the mesh covering and not a louver.

It is possible that the pipe itself is clogged as well.

This not only prevents proper drying, but is a fire hazzard and can cause problems with the dryer.

It "should" be a problem that the apartment maintenance crew will take care of free of charge.
