KTM Lc4 640 2004 No spark fitted a new coil still no spark tested pulsar coil got 108 ohm's getting power to CDI tested blue and white wire to coil what els is there I can do

Hi, Anthony and the usual suspects are:
1. Fouled spark plugs.
2. Severely discharged or a damaged battery, should have 12.5 volts or better and be able to pass a load test if necessary.
3. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
4. Loose connection at ignition coil or plug between ignition sensor and CDI box.
5. Spark plug cables in bad condition, shorting / leaking, spark plug cable connections loose, check for spark leakage in the dark.
6. Faulty ignition coil, pick up coil, igniter, trigger coil or CDI box testing needs to be checked with an ohmmeter at 70 degrees Fahrenheit
7. Faulty safety switches clutch, kickstand, neutral, off/on etc.
8. Faulty ignition switch.

2001 ktm 300 mxc not getting a spark what would cause not to get a spark

A few things, start simple disconnect the kill switch, remove the spark plug cap from the wire, check all your coneections from the stator to the cdi box to the coil.Still no spark your going to need a multi meter to check the stator and coil.If all this checks out to be good then it is your cdi box.A word of caution test these parts before replacing as they are not returnable and could get costly.A good shop could diagnose your problem in hour time.It may be money well spent if you do not understand your bikes ignition system.

How to test CDI unit for KTM65 2009 to diagnose if faulty or not.

If you are able to use a digital volt meter and work your backwards from spark plug wire to coil to cdi to stator you can figure out where voltage stops.thats a fairly newer bike unless you really submerged that bike under water i dont think its the cdi box.it could be coil wire it could be coil.you want to check or change the cheaper parts before you go right to cdi because there not cheap.I have a yamaha banshee 350 and she was breaking up real bad.I thought because it was only happining on top end that the cdi was breaking down or stator was going bad.Found out with meter it was the coil wires and spark plug boots. These items have to have a certain amount of resistance or the do not conduct correctly. And spark plug wires and boots are not that exspensive. So thats why I say start from sparkplug boot and work your way back.Try that and Good Luck.

Set on 08 ktm 450 sxf Cam timing

It could be a faulty coil inside the magneto, wrong timing or a problem ranging from cdi unit, wiring from the former up to the spark plug.Sometimes the cap that sits on the spark plug could cause this.Basically you are having a firing problem, which means combustion chamber is not getting the right spark for proper combustion.Sometimes even an improper ground from chassis to engine could be the cause of this problem.Hope this helps.Any questions then please ask..O I forgot, try a different spark plug, sometimes these could cause this problem.

I have lost spark need to know how to troubleshoot coil and inginiton module

First make sure all of your wire connections are good and the wires have no breaks in them. You can test with a multimeter. Start by testing in the plug cap, then at the coil and keep working your way up the electrical system. A multimeter can be bought for $10.00 at any auto parts store or where they sell cheap tools.

I have a 2007 KTM 450sxf after i ride it it dies within a minute

I'd start with simple things like checking the plug and doing a few electrical tests. Some tests you may be able to do yourself like resistance checks.Compare the following spec with what you get ; Primary coil . 25~35 0hms Secondary 5050~7550 Valve clearance inlet 0.10~0.15 exuast 0.15~0.20 both cold and in mm.

1996 zx11 getting sprk to one bank only

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

The voltage on the green wire must be pulsating when cranking/starting the bike, not steady. Confirm by similarly testing the voltage on the black wire on the left ignition coil. If the green still reads a constant voltage, then the CDI is faulty; to be more specific, most likely that the switching tansistor inside the CDI that drives the right ignition coil has shorted.

Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.

LOSE OF SPARK

Pull the plug back out of the cylinder and ground it against one of the head bolts, kick the engine over to see if you are getting a spark.
