It wont start. I have fuel pressure and I also have fire at the spark plugs. I recently change the fuel filter and crank shaft position sensor. but my yukon xl does have 300,000 miles on it
You need spark at the right time, fuel pressure at the injectors, and normal compression.
Have the spark plugs been changed in the past couple of years ?
Have you checked the fuel pressure to see if it is enough ?
Have you sprayed carb cleaner into the throttle body to try to make the engine try to start ?
Does it sound like it has normal compression when cranking ?
yes I recently had a complete tune up with in the last 45 days. I haven't check the fuel pressure with a gauge, but I have use started fluid in the throttle body to make it catch which didn't start. I'm not sure of how the compression is suppose to sound, but I hope that's not the problem,
Tell me how you know you have spark and fuel pressure. If you sprayed carb cleaner into the intake with no results its probably not a lack of fuel. Have you pulled any of the plugs to see if they are wet or dry ?
It would be helpful if you could check the computer for trouble codes, but that would require a scanner or code reader you probably don't have.
I pulled the first 3 plugs on both side of the engine and they were wet.
Ok. I would replace all plugs with fresh dry ones and try it again. Might also pull the fuel pump relay to kill the pump and help dry out the cylinders.
ok I will try that first

1999 Yukon Start Issue - I have replaced the octopuse, battery, fuel filter, fuel pump, still having problems starting in cold weather, sometimes after a heavy rain.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Check for a bad distributor cap and or rotor..........a bad cap and or rotor can caues firing (cross fire)across the terminals and introduce spark to the wrong cylinders at the wrong time.......
hope this helps.....good luck!

Bank 1 Sensor 1
P0300 - Engine Misfire Detected
I would check for vacuum leaks, maybe intake or brake booster

IF U HAVE A BAD FUEL PUMP OR A FUEL
FILTER BUT THE FUEL PUMP BAD BECAUSE OF THE FILTER MORE THAN LIKELY SO I WOULD REPLACE BOTH IF THE PRESSURE IS NOT BETWEEN 45 PSI AND 55 PSI. GOOD LUCK CHEAPEST PLACE FOR A PUMP AND FILTER IS ADVANCE AUTO PARTS JUST REPLACED THE ONE IN MY TAHOE.
SOURCE: 92 GMC Jimmy Replaced fuel pressure and fuel
if you say you replaced the fuel pressure ? "regulator or pump" that was not very clear as to which so i am guessing and the filter but have no fuel to the fuel bar valve either you have no power to the pump or a clogged fuel line or a blown fuse or a short in the power suppluy to the fuel pump if you turn the key to on position without cranking it do you hear a slight humming noise if so the fuel pump is working ..if you do now hear this chances are as i stated above
the use of a test light is required to check for power to the pump as wel do you smell any gas =fuel lines are rotted .let ne know what you discover and check all your fuses
