My SES and REP lights are on and i 've searched everywhere for a wire that would possibly be bare and touching metal. But haven't found one. the truck will start, but is in REP mode. What is blowing the ETC fuse? can anyone tell me what it might be?

The reason the fuse blows/melts is because there is excessive draw. The other alternator could be wired wrong. Check to make sure the wires are correct gauge.

Update: I took the car to a mechanic that specializes in auto electrics and he found that the wire that goes to the back oxygen sensor had chaffed through over the transmission and was shorting out and blowing the fuse. He repaired it and the car runs beautifully.

I would try swapping the fuel pump relay with another in the fuse box under the hood with one that has the same numbers to see if the relay is any good. Then I would check all other fuses and replace any bad ones. The fuel pump is not just controled by the fuel pump fuse alone there are other components that control it and if those fuses are bad it wont run.I would also check to see if a wire got pinched from the instalation of the fuel pump that finaly rubbed through to brake the connection or shorted it out.

have you checked to see if you have a bad came or lifter. that would make it backfire. if it kind of spits fuel it maybe cam. if it throws fire than it could be timing like a bad chain.

Hello, actually you do have a fuse for the turn signals. It's a 20 AMP fuse in the small fuse block on the left end of the dashboard.

Never requires a new throttle body
Thanks for your input Paul...i've searched for days for a answer to the p1512 code and what might be blowing the ETC fuse...i've found a couple threads , but they were no help.....
i've read the thread on underhoodservice.com before, it is what is happening on my envoy...but they don't explain how they fixed the ETC fuse circuit...i've put a new fuse in, but it blows as soon as the ignition is turned on.
You will need a wiring diagram & use it to work the wiring issues out, using a volt meter. Try a local repair shop & have them both print the parts you need as well as look up the fixes off Alldata,Mitchell or whatever data base they have
i've read hundreds of threads on this and similar problems with the ETC system on the envoy....and it seems that most garages are just guessing on what might be wrong...so i'm not sure a garage can fix the problem without doing unnessecary test and suggestions.. i'm wondering if the ignition switch going bad would short the ETC fuse?
