How to change handle bars

Unable to remove the cover where the bars are fixed to the forks! (2005Road King FLHRSI) Gone in through the head light and removed bolts but cannot find how to remove the lock cover. I have prized off the ring around the lock hoping to find 2 bolts or screws, but they appear to be some kind of rivets!!!! Please help.

Are you sure they aren't torx head screws?  I have done a few handlebar conversions on RKs and all of them had phillips head screws under the ring which covered the ignition switch.  I looked in the service manual as well and it shows these screws as being phillips.  The FLHRS does have a wind deflector with one screw at the front, which is removed by accessing the nut inside the headlamp housing, and then the 2 screws surrounding the ignition switch.  I'm not sure what else it could be, but I wish you luck with it.

Take off the screws under the stearing lock cover that says (lock unlock) if they are not philip head screws then they most likely are torx heads you can purchase a set of torx screw drivers at your local auto parts store.

What socket do i need for removing the caliper bolts on a 2005 road king custom

The bolts are metric and use a 10mm 12 point head.
To re-install caliper:
1, Loosely install long caliper mounting bolt into upper
lug of front fork leg.
2, Install short caliper mounting bolt into lower lug of
front fork leg. Tighten lower mounting bolt to 28-38
ft-lbs (37.9-51.5 Nm).
3, Tighten upper caliper mounting bolt to 28-38 ft-lbs
(37.9-51.5 Nm).
4, Tighten pad pins to 180-200 in-lbs (20.3-22.6 Nm).

How do you adjust the handle bars?

On the older FL models, there was chrome cover that covers the handlebar risers. It was held on by two bolts, one on each side of the cover right in the middle of the handlebars. Remove the cover and you can get to the riser. Loosen the top bolts of the riser and adjust the bars. Unless they've changed something, this should work.

Good Luck

What does it mean: FLHRS/FLHRSI Road King®

Alphabet Soup is what it means! F = Big Twin Frame, L=The 16" front tire and 41 or 39 mm forks, H = performance package(back in the day at least), R = Is for the Road King Model, S = Sport model Road King, I = Fuel Injected. Now quick note HD also likes to mix things up a bit to keep everyone on their toes, thus the Quest for Logic in Alphabet Soup.
