Hello, I see you have a trailblaber with a knocking noise. It sounds like you have an electric fan clutch issue. Believe it or not your vehicle has an electric fan clutch. It looks just like the older non-electric but if you look on the driver side of the fan shroud that is the wire connector you see. It is an exspensive part just for the clutch but thats exactly what you are describing. It doesn't get louder just fast with rpms. Please rate my answer, Thank you

The problem with your car is that the oil drains back down into the oil pan after sitting. I have this problem at my work where we change oil. After each oil change there is no oil in the motor, it is all in the pan so every single car knocks something fierce when we start it up after adding new oil because it takes awhile to get to where it needs to be.
In your case, probably a seal in the oil pump or the pump itself. Once or twice this is no problem, but if it does it every day you are severely wearing out your engine components without oil flow.

Please change the oil now at the Nissan garage and watch the vehicle closely.
$100 is not so much like getting your car totally knocked.
Good luck and rate this solution/ suggestion.

hi this could be due to your hydraulic tappets, these will start to rattle if the oil has been low at some stage and the oil was to thin this normally sounds worse in the mornings on first start and gets quieter as the day goes on or disappears altogether, what you could do, is use an engine flush, put it in the engine and run it for a period of time, then empty the oil and refill with a thicker grade oil and see how that goes..hope this helps
