For 02 yamaha put the balky yz426f tranny in the yz250's, just for duribility tho....other than that yamaha manufactures might do a slite rejetting, maybe a head compession change, and other small changes. the yz line around that time were great bikes, and still are, so there was really no flaw and nothing really had to be changed because the yz250 of any year was a bulletproof bike. the only flaw i can think of is that these 01 -03 yz"s were only a few years off from having the plug and play aluminim frame, which to me pretty sweet. good luck

Hi need help I've got a 2002 wr 426f but need new frame I can buy a yzf 250 2002 frame but not sure if it will fit I know ill lose my kick stand

Yes the YZ frame will work perfect.
The main difference in a WR to a YZ is the extra weight that the flywheel has on the WR's engine, other than that the bikes are about identical.
Good luck,Gary

2005 Yamaha YZ 250f. suggestions on type of motor oil.

The manual gives different grade for different temp . sorry if your in america these temps are in centigrade.
if it gets below 0 deg C use the thinner oil 10W30
5deg-40deg 15 or 20W40
If it gets to 50degC 20W50
just make sure it is motorcycle oil without friction modifiers or the clutch will slip

The yz 250 1986 has the same engine as the tri z

no it is not the same.

Tranny is closer for yz
YZ has no lightning coil
intake system is far different from both.

BUT fitting is the same, so switching from one frame to another may be doable.

I got a 01 yz 250 it gets spark every once in a

if the coils and CDIs have been replaced, you may want to check your wiring, this is usually caused by a damaged like grounding the frame and affecting the spark.

Oil change on a 2003 yz250f.

the oil in the frame is pumped into the crankcase, i had the same problem so i asked at the yamaha dealers. the dipstick on the frame is for checking the oil and the plug on the crankcase is for filling it with oil. I believe it takes about 1liter of oil from other posts but i could be mistaken
