97 Saturn SL2 won't turn over

The clutch is not releasing/disengaging. Your clutch linkage (if you have mechanical linkage) or hydraulic clutch system may not be working properly to release the clutch. If you had the work done by a shop, take it back to them and explain the problem. They should stand behind their work.

If it doesn't even click. The starter wire from the ignition. Could be a fuse. Does the security light go off after a couple seconds?

I guess my first question would be - are you saying it is slipping in 3rd gear ? If you push the gas pedal to the floor it should downshift into a lower gear.
If it is slipping, or not upshifting into 3rd gear, I'm afraid chances are the transmission is toast.
You can take it to a couple of shops for estimates but they will probably want to pull the pan and take a look inside.

HAVE YOU CHECKED THE FLUID IN THE RESIVOR FOR THE CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER?

Sounds like a drive shaft but you would hear a clonking noise so it could be the clutch gone ,if i was their with it infront of me i could soon tell you the problem but from afar ? ask a local mechanic to have a look for you as this is one of them questions its impossible to give a correct answer

i had the same problem with my 97 sl2 check the shift cable on the trans when it happend to me the end of the cable was broke.

check ur fuel pump and the plugs

97 saturn turn over wont start , getting fuel ; no spark

put a new clutch pressureplate in it . it is gone

sounds like a bent shift lever.
