How often should i charge my GSXR 750 battery?

Instructions
    • 1 Remove the seats from both motorcycles to access the battery. Use an Allen wrench to remove the bolts from beneath the rear of the seats' padding. Use the ignition key to release the seat lock found on an earlier GSX-R600 model.
    • 2 Start the working motorcycle and clip the red (positive) jumper cable to its positive battery terminal. Clip the opposite end of the red jumper cable onto the GSX-R600's positive battery terminal.
    • 3 Clip the black (negative) jumper cable to the working motorcycle's negative battery terminal. Clip the opposite end of the red jumper cable onto the GSX-R600's negative battery terminal.
    • 4 Rev the working motorcycle's motor to 3,000 to 4,000 RPM, while in neutral, to produce enough power to maintain an electrical charge. Maintain this engine speed for the remainder of the procedure.
    • 5 Press the starter button on the right handlebar to start the GSX-R600's motor. Release the button immediately if the motorcycle does not start within five seconds then try again.
    • 6 Rev the GSX-R600's motor to 3,000 to 4,000 RPM and maintain this engine speed for at least three minutes.
    • 7 Disconnect the black jumper cables from both motorcycles, followed by the positive jumper cables. Reinstall the seats on both motorcycles, using the reverse method of removal.

How do I replace a handle bar on a 2008 GSXR 600 I'm concerned about the front suspension while taking the top plate off

Support bike on paddoc stand, support also under engine to take the weight of the steering, remove your handlebar, do not disturbe any of the bolts on the bottom yoke and providing you have no weight on the steering you will not disturbe the suspension replace in reverse order, do not worry its not a big job, if replacing the r/h handlebar undo the twistgrip unit and slide it onto the new bar before fitting to the bike, this will omit the use for removing the cables.

My 08 Road King throttle feels as if there is a broken spring inside and will not return to the forward position. this causes it to idle too high. Is there a "home repair" for this

It's probably one of the cables, probably the idle cable, has a broken strand in the braided cable. Loosen the two bolts that hold the front brake master cylinder onto the handlebars and slide it towards the center of the handlebar and temporarily tighten it there.

Now take the two bolts that hold the right handlebar switch housing together. Carefully lift the top of the of the switch housing up. There's some wiring in there and it won't come completely off. You can check your cables from here but you may have to loosen the cable adjusters a bit. Carefully roll the throttle to the open position and the idle cable end will roll up into view. Look for broken strands of cable. If you find any, replace the cable.

Replace the cable by loosening the adjuster to get as much slack as you can. Disconnect the cable from the throttle sleeve. Remove the ferrell from the end of the cable and work the cable out of the lower switch housing. Sometimes this can be difficult because the cable has a spring clip that holds it in. Just spray the inside of the hole on the bottom were the cable goes in and keep wiggling it. Take the air cleaner cover, air filter element, and air filter backing plate off and you''ll see where the cables connect on that end. The idle cable is the one with the spring on that end and it will be loose. Replace the cable and reassembly is the reverse of disassembly.

Be careful not to pinch any wires when reassembling the switch halves. Make sure you get the throttle cables installed and adjusted correctly. Adjust each cable to where they have just a small amount of slack in EACH cable. When you twist the throttle and release it, it should snap closed. Failure to insure proper throttle operation could cause lose of control of the vehicle causing severe injury or death to the rider.

Good Luck

I have a 2009 model Suzuki Hayabusa. The turn signal fuse which is 10amp keeps blowing. This leaves me with no turn signals, rear tail light, brake light, and no dash functions.Any ideas anyone???

I've got the same problem on my 08 Busa. Both times happened after turning left. The second definitely happened when I turned on the left turn signal. The 4 way flashers worked after I replaced the fuse the first time. Perhaps the left turn signal worked a few times between replacing the fuse the first time the second time it blew. I looked at the left handlebar switch and can't see a problem in it. Next, I'm going to trace some wires.

I am considering converting the clip handlebar on my hyosung gt650r to the high handlebar of the hyosung gt652s,can you advise me how and what to replace or look out for.thanks

Simply type in 'Hyosung parts' in your preferred search engine and look for the replacement handlebar kit for an 'S'. Instead of the handlebars clipping on to the sleeve at the top of each fork like the 'R', the 'S' set is bolted on to the two other bolts you see on the inside top of your handlebars. It's as simple as buying the 'raising' kit, bolting it on; unbolting your existing handlebars and re bolting to the raised 'S' style kit. About a half hour job with a shifter!

How can I increase horsepower in a 2007 600CC Honda Shadow motorcycle?

After market air cleaners are a start. If you are serious about more HP then get a full race cam for the bike. Hold tight to the handlebars.
