Question about Transport Schwinn Rechargeable Portable Scooter

Open Question

I have a 1999 Derbi Manhattan 49cc scooter with low power.

I tried to put a larger cylender (72cc) on it but couldn't get it to run right and burned up the cylender. I have now gone back to the original size cylender and carburator jets. It starts fine and runs but seems to be less powerfull and doesn't sound right. I have tried adjusting the air mixture but I havn't found an adjustment that helps.

Do you have instructions for how to adjust it properly?

Also, could the reed valves be bad and causing it to sound funny?

Thanks - Mark

Hello,

To open the seat you turn the key to the left in the ignition (rather than right like normal) and the seat catch should pop undone. You can then lift the seat up. Make sure you do NOT push on the key when you turn it otherwise it won't work.

SOURCE: Geely Scooter

I believe that is the alarm telling you to add more oil to the resevior. I have a 2003 geely as well, and my owner's manual says there is an alarm for when the oil is low. Use a good 2 cycle injector oil from a motorcycle shop to get the best performance and avoid problems.

Hope it helps,
Criss
