The most likely problem is that the kickstart gear has worn. It shouldn't be difficult to replace as it should be on the outside to the gear cluster. You should be able to get at it by removing the casing and it should be visible. To do the job (or maintain any motorbike yourself) I would suggest that you buy a manual. They only cost about 20GBP but if you follow the instructions in them they will save you hundreds. And make the next bike easier to work on. The Hero is based on the CG125, a very reliable and useful machine.
Curb need to come off and disassembled and clean glaze has harden the curb are natoruos for clogging from sitting and if it has neopren needle seats the will have to be replased, that is the first place to start!
Find a good mechanic and have them check out the bike before you buy. If a bike has been well maintained then only normal maintenance will be needed. That is why you may need a helpful set of eyes to begin with. After you get the bike take a riding class because a bike is very different than a car.
Nice bike! The gearbox may be save-able if it hasn't done too many miles with no oil. I would use a good quality semi-synthetic 10-40 multigrade but for acurate description of your bike, check this web site out. It may help you out. http://www.bikez.com/motorcycles/sachs_roadster_125_v2_2002.php
hiya mate! the bike is in neutral is it.. coz mine wont start if its in gear..when u sit on it pull cluch ,,neutral sould light up when u find it .. then start yr bike..
You can find a free pdf service manual on this site. I checked and they have '98,'99 and 2000 manuals. The torque specifications do not change year to year so I suggest you download the 2000 manual. http://www.carlsalter.com/motorcycle-manuals.asp Please rate this solution. Thanks!
Your best bet is to custom make or adapt other parts to your bike. the best way if you are not used to doing this is to pic up a cheap parts bike that is more like where you want you bike to be when you are complete and start swapping and adapting parts till you start getting the results you want!
