Hi, I am a lifelong biker and I can tell you this is strictly a personal preference thing based on how and where you ride. In the owners manuals of almost every bike you will find an oil chart based on temperature if the average temp where you live is below 60F then you want a thinner weight oil and so on. If you race you want maybe a synthetic racing blend. So the bottom line is if you road race in Phoenix vs the person who commutes in New York you would use an entirely different oil. My best advice is to contact your local bike shops or bike clubs and tell them how you ride and they will tell you what they sell locally. Good Luck!

What is year model for zx600 motorcycle with serial number 80017280

Hi Mike, to find this out you need the VIN number which is usually around the steering column or engine, its 17 numbers and should start with "JKA", "JKB", "JK1", "JSA", or "LM4"

The 10th digit is the model year, ie 6=2006.

Got a cluck cluck noise coming from the engine and ive already replaced the piston and rings, is it the kips and how can i quieten it

is the chain properly tight?
is there enough oil, and is the oil designed for use with this bike?
Is the noise audible only on neutral or also during the ride? Might be the common kawa transmission problem, I had two kawasaki bikes, the transmission is unusualy louder than on other bikes, thats normal with kawa, but had similar problem only when standing still on neutral.

It seems I need to change my drive chain for a 1200 ZRX kawa... Since it has a high torque engine, which brand/kind do you recommend?

Just visit a Kawasaki dealer and get the stock chain the bike came with. The designers of the bike carefully determine what chain will best handle what the engine can put out . I never try to out-engineer the engineers.
