ok il have a look on the frame rail when i get back off work but i no there definatly wasnt a black box under the seat thanks
thank you all for your replies, i have not found a battery however i have had luck with the horn (nearly) i took the switch appart and noticed it was quite corroded i cleaned up the contacts and am now getting a faint horn noise when i press the button so im considering replacing the swtich. Thats if you can actually buy the switch as a seperate part, i noticed its not a case of disconnecting the switch from the loom becuase the wires come straight from the loom so im guessing id have to just re-solder them on to the new switch. Where would be a good place to buy Yamaha parts??
Again thank you for your help!
according to this pic, your bike is suppose to have a battery (#23 in the pic). see pic for location. look here to see if previous owner put in a large capacitor (battery bypass) instead of a battery.

or just the electrical:

Near the side cover, perhaps? Find it yet? Battery, fuses?
Hey Steve,
Ok quick question. Did you look under the seat for a small 1"X2 1/2" black box which houses the fuses? If not located there the fuse may be on the frame rail just below the seat.
Good luck
the steering is either really loose or really tight and when i go between 10-15mph i feel unbalanced when i go around a corner. Ive dismantled the bike, and i cant seem to find any problems with it. What should i do?
