Yamaha is struggling to start with electrical and kick-start.

Check your carburetor or or throttle body for obstruction.
Clean intake and reset idle.

After riding the bike and cutting it off, sometimes after 20 to 30 minutes, when starting, it will not do any more than idle. If you cut it off and back on it will be fine. It also has gone to an idle...

This is caused by the ECU loosing or seeing an in-correct signal from the throttle position sensor (fly by wire). Remove the plug located on right side of bike mounted on the throttle body pointing towards rear of bike. Removal of air cleaner assy may be required. Spray a good quality switch cleaner in both the socket and plug. Allow to dry completely. Use HD contact grease in plug and socket to prevent this happening again.

I have a NC30 that has been standing for about a year, the only reason for that is CDI issues. I bought a De-restricted CDI from Japan, replaced the Spark plugs and checked all fuses and connections. I...

Check your CDI on the other bike is a good option. if it was perfect before the CDI change then the new CDI is the only variable.
Wont be shimming.the valves need to wear to change that setting, and the bike has been sitting.
Sounds like its sucking air after the carby once over, but the balancing would have picked that up.
But how did you balance them if its idling at 5000rpm?
Recheck the carb once over,and balance, and make sure the fuel and vacumn tubes are in correct positions. check the throttle cable is replaced correctly
I assume it is running on all cylnders.

Hi,i have a mito 125,2000.it vibrates a lot.have you any idea how to stop this or not b as bad.cheers paul

if you have make modifications, like changing the bar ends, that could be one of the more typical reasons.

other could be a bad rotor, other could be a tire that needs balance, other could be that your throttle bodies need to be synchronized (not only carburated bikes have throttle bodies)

Scooter Open Throttle (?)

Assuming the bike is not fuel injected, you either have a stuck slide, a throttle cable out of place such that it is lifting the slide or a really bad manifold air leak. Tighten the clamps holding the carb to the cylinder and the bolts holding the manifold to the cylinder. That should eliminate any air leaks. Inspect the throttle cable, especially at the ends where it connects. Remove the air filter and look into the center of the carb. Does the slide in the throat of the carb open and close properly? Below is a generic carburetor. Your carb will be similar.

Kawasaki zzr1200 non starter

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

A few ideas:
  • The buzzing/vibration would be the solenoid and it would only do so if the battery's charge is not sufficient to start the bike. If the battery is fully charged, then the sound would be a click/clack;
  • to try & free the engine internals, with the plugs removed, sparingly spray the inside of the combustion chamber with WD40 or preferably 2T oil (used for 2 stroke bikes). Let it sit for a while and then try turning the rear wheel while in first gear with the plugs still off;
  • alternately, try the starter again with the same conditions as above but rather than one long press of the starter button, try short/momentary press of the start button;
  • if the above fails, you may need to gain access to the left side of the engine by removing some of the body works. Some versions have a snap-off circular cover on the body. There would be a disc with slot, Remove said disc. Inside would be a big nut 17/19mm. You would need preferably a T wrench that fits and would be used to turn the crankshaft but not fully forcing it. You have to do it by feel. If considerable resistance, stop;
  • remove the entire body work; remove cylinder head with care on the rubber gasket. apply WD40 oil liberally on the camshaft, caps and let it drip down on the timing chain.
  • try again using the T wrench.
Would appreciate an update. Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

My MT-03 is vibrating an making a bit of a tattling sound

Hi mattandem

I have replied already to your other post... didn't see this one... not sure what the vibration through the peg could be caused by as they mount directly to the frame. The frame being a substantial structure to the bike means that the vibration is being created anywhere on the frame,and you are feeling it in your foot peg. The only thing that comes to mind is that perhaps one of the tank mounting rubbers is not seated properly, or inadvertently rolled away on the garage floor. This is what I would be checking for.

robotek
