Check coil,wiring,battery,and plug wires for continuity. use good plugs new not always good check for spark befor installing.

did you correct the running rich issue first . The new plugs will perform even worse if it is still getting to much fuel. Put the old plugs back in , If you can, fire it up and correct the fuel problem first. Chk your air cleaner also. Good luck. I had a v45 and v65 and loved them both.
