SOURCE: kawasaki ninja 636 won't start

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

On your post "...does not fire..." initial checks would be for:

  • consistent IGN + 12 on the red wire going to all the ignition coils even when cranking;
  • pulsating voltage on the other wire of each ignition coil coming from the ECU when cranking.

Incidentally, if the bike has been sitting for 2 months, you may want to check quality of fuel and/or replace it. Further checks maybe required on the fuel delivery system. Try of a quick fix would be adding / spraying injector cleaner.

Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.

SOURCE: Engine swap 04 zx10r on a 06 zx 636 f

The zx-10r engine is too wide to fit inside the 636 frame. Probably too much work to fit it but it would be awesome to have a zx-10r disguised as a 636.

I have Kawasaki zxr 636 it will not start when cold it trys to fire but won't 20 mins with jump lead it starts and is ok leave it a month it will not go

Hi, Wayne you may want to consider a motorcycle battery tender and the usual suspects are:
1. Fuel tank empty.
2. Fuel supply valve/petcock turned off.
3. Fouled spark plugs.
4. Engine flooded as a result of overuse of the enricher.
5. Vacuum hose to the fuel supply valve/petcock disconnected, broken, cracked, or pinched.
6. Fuel valve/petcock or filter clogged.
7. Fuel line to the carburetor or throttle body pinched or kinked.
8. Carburetor float stuck.
9. Fuel injectors clogged.
10. Severely discharged or damaged battery you need 12.5 volts or better and be able to pass a load test if necessary.
11. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
12. Loose or corroded wire connection at the coil, battery or plug between ignition sensor and CDI box.
Spark plug cables in bad condition and shorting check for leakage in the dark, cable connections loose, or connected to the wrong cylinders.
13. Ignition timing incorrect due to a faulty MAP, CKP, O2, TPS, sensors.
14. Faulty neutral, clutch lever, or kickstand safety switch.
15. Faulty fuel pump or fuse or relay.
16. Faulty CDI box.
17. A stuck bent or burnt valve.
18. Tip over sensor needs a reset.
19. Check for engine trouble codes.

What is ffiring order for 2004 Kawasaki 636

Hi, Amie I am pretty sure the firing order is 1-2-4-3 but for this situation I would call my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix/answer or parts inquiry. If necessary transport your vehicle to the dealer or shop and have a professional technician take it for a test drive, if it is in running condition, and give you a written estimate of repairs and answer any specific questions you may have about your issue. My Kawasaki Zephyr 1100 (1992 -A1 series) sounds as if it is mis-firing. All cylinders appear to be firing as the exhaust pipes are getting hot. I have checked and cleaned the plugs and checked wiring to...

plug wire condition cud be bad-the boots and inside--carbs may need balancing and cud be dirty--gears cud be worn--u need a clymer manual for troublshoot details--no wheelies

My 2005 kawasaki ninja 636 wont start i was charging the battery and it made a pop noise and now nothing turns on when i turn the key

The Kawasaki has a main fuse, located in the starter relay. Follow the red battery cable from the battery to a small plastic box. This box should have two large wires and a plastic cap, Under this cap is the main fuse. Pull that and see if it is blown and replace it if she is.

Engine swap 04 zx10r on a 06 zx 636 f

The frame mounting points are completely different. A zx 636 frame wraps around the motor where as a zx10r frame goes directly over the motor. That's how they keep the zx10r nimble enough to feel like a 600cc sport bike. But in this day and age if you have enough time and money you can accomplish anything. Honestly it's just easier to sell your 6 and buy a 1 liter.
