I'm coming up to 25000 miles service and I've been told that I need to change the shell valves ??? Is this correct

It is a legitimate service. There are 2 main ways to perform the service - either by disassembling and cleaning out, or by use of an engine cleaner or valve cleaning kit. Some of the options are sprayed in through intake while car is running and it helps get the carbon deposits off the valves. I knew a place that did this service and the engines would smoke during the service as the carbon was being taken off - but seemed to straighten right back up. Hi Anonymous and the usual suspects are:
1. Insufficient oil supply, or oil not circulating.
2. Insufficient air passing over the engine.
3. Heavy carbon deposits.
4. Ignition timing retarded due to faulty MAP, CKP, O2, and/or CMP sensors.
5. Leaking intake or exhaust valve.

Need to set timiing on fiat sienna

First no year then no engine size.

BUT:

IF?

I'm afraid you do need a special set of tools for this engine - they lock the engine and time it up accurately, you cant do without I'm afraid.

The tool kits come with full instructions so once you have obtained one, you will be able to put it all back no problem.

The solenoid clicks and the lights turn on but the engine will not turn over.

Hi,

Please check your battery for weak.
If your battery is good, check the starter wiring, have it tightened.
If still the same, the problem is on your starter motor. And the weakest part on starting motor is the carbon brush. So before you go to repair / replace the starter just gently check it out, replace the carbon brush if necessary.

Regards

I have a 1980's yamaha golf cart and it keeps idling when turned off sometime it turs off is it the soleoid

If you are saying that the motor keeps on running after the key is turned off, one of three possibilities exist. The key switch ihas gone bad, check it with an Olmmeter. Someone has messed with the wire connections, check out all wiring for proper color coded connections. The engine is deiseling because of carbon buildup on the piston and cylinder head. This is the most likely reason for the continued running. The carbon buildup will create hotspots that are hot enough to ignite the fuel even without the spark plug. Pull the head and scrape the carbon off using a screwdriver and a wire brush. Also, clean away any dirt, leaves, grass clippings or whatever may be blocking air from cooling the engine. The starter solinoid can go bad but you surely know the sound of the starter motor verses the sound of the engine.

Valves rattle during acceleration, does it have tension adjusters on it

Hydraulic lifters on your model, there are cam chain tensioners sometimes those go bad, I would go by a Kawasaki dealer and get a product they brand under the Kawasaki name called carbon clean, you might have a carboned up engine, stuff really works, Yamaha also sells the same product there’s is called ring free.
