Hi, Paul and the usual suspects are:
1. Fouled spark plugs.
2. Severely discharged or a damaged battery, should have 12.5 volts or better and be able to pass a load test if necessary.
3. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
4. Loose connection at ignition coil or plug between ignition sensor and module.
5. Spark plug cables in bad condition, shorting / leaking, spark plug cable connections loose check for spark leakage in the dark.
6. Faulty ignition coil or electronic control module.
7. Faulty CKP, CMP, or BAS sensor.
8. Faulty ignition switch.
9. Tilt sensor needs a reset.
10. Security alarm failing to disarm needs reset

99 corolla passenger window wont roll up

Turn the ignition on but don't start the engine. Operate the windows from the master control switch. If none of the windows work, check the main fuse or breaker for the whole power window circuit. If only one of the windows is inoperative, go to Step 3.

  • 2 Check the main circuit relay using a test light. If voltage is coming out of the relay, there is an open or short at the wire feeding power to the other switches. If no voltage is coming out of the relay, use the test light to make sure voltage is reaching the relay. If voltage is reaching the relay, replace it. If there is no voltage reaching the relay, there is an open or short at the wire between the relay and the main fuse.
  • 3 Check the circuit fuse or breaker at the inoperative window. If the fuse or breaker is okay, go to the next step. If you can hear a humming sound as you press the switch but the window does not operate, either the motor is bad or its gearbox may have broken teeth. Go to Step 7.
  • 4 Turn the ignition on but don't start the engine. Using a multimeter, check the master control lockout switch for continuity. If there is no continuity, replace the lockout switch. With some vehicle models, problems at the lockout switch can cause both rear windows to fail.
  • 5 Try the switch at the inoperative window and check for continuity using a voltmeter. If there is no continuity, replace the switch.
  • 6 Check for voltage at the switch using a test light. If voltage is not reaching the switch, there is an open or short between the incoming wire and the fuse or breaker for that circuit power window.
  • 7 Take off the trim panel from the inoperative window. Check for voltage at the motor with a test light while pressing the switch. If there is no voltage, there is a short or open at the wire between the switch and the motor. If the circuit is equipped with a relay, test for voltage reaching and coming out the relay. Make sure the relay is working properly. If voltage is reaching the motor, go to the next step.
  • 8 Detach the window from the regulator and inspect the regulator mechanism by moving the window up and down by hand. Make sure nothing restrains the mechanism. Also, inspect the motor gearbox. Replace any parts as necessary.

I have no spark in my 1987 honda accord i have replaced the coil and a new distributor also the main relay fuse is good as well as all the other fuses look good it turns over just fine seems to want to...

I would check the crank sensor located on the bell housing. This senses that the engine is turning and allows a spark to be produced. No sensor no spark.

Engine do not restart, after few minutes parking, good battery & half filled gas tank.

My guess is that your main relay could be bad. It's a common problem with Honda, Accura and so on.

Could create intermitent starting problem when temperature is extreme (hot or cold). Temperature affects one of the internal relay welded circuit contacts. The problem may occur on a random basis and could disappears for few days or weeks and reappear...

The purpose of this relay is to provide electrical power to the fuel pump.

Then when the problem occurs take off your gas cap and ear at the gas tank filler neck during an helper turn the ignition switch on (driver door closed to avoid bell sound) If you ear a kind of buz sound when the key is just turned on it's that the fuel pump is operational. If during this attempt the engine doesn't start then the problem is not your main relay. If it's the relay, it's not an expensive part and could be replaced easily (located under the dash around the steering column.

If it's not the relay I would check if i'm getting spark at the spark plugs during engine cranking. Unfortunately unless you can reproduce the problem at home it's not safe nor obvious to verify that stalled on the road.
So once again it's a guess based on the described symptom.
Some other readers could add about other components to be checked.
    Hope it will help.
    Let us know about development.

Intermitent problem can be cause by bad contacts or loose connection. Try replacing the fuel pump relay, starting relay, and the main engine relay, but before you do this see if there any loose connectors by wiggling the wires while the engine is running. If you wiggled the bad ones the engine would die off.
