I replaced clutch plate disc and slave cylinder it went out in third after replacing parts it only grinds when engaging gear
The clutch plate can only be fitted one way. If you noticed one side of the plate has a raised section that contains springs. The other side is flat. Puting the plate the wrong way round allows the raised section to hit the heads of the flywheel bolts and this is causing the clutch to spin even though you have the foot on the clutch. Make sure you have properly bled the air from the clutch system. Mostly there is a notice printed on the clutch plate which reads like flywheel side or this side away from flywheel

The hydraulic cylinder is in the bell housing. When you separate the motor and tranny, you will see it as a unit with the throw-out bearing. Take the hydraulic line off before you start. You will have to bleed it when you are done.
SOURCE: replaced slave cylinder, now grinds
the forck for the throwout bearing has fell off the pin it is not that hard to put back on take slave cyld back off then feel of the forck you can tell where it needs to be pop it back in
SOURCE: Clutch will not Engage
You need to bleed it out. It takes some time to do this. There is a bleeder valve above the hose fitting on the tranny. Have some one pump the clutch and hold it down and crack the bleeder nut. Just like you would when you do your brakes.

If it was selecting gears ok before the clutch was replaced then the slave cylinder should be ok, it may just need bleeding. If it was playing up before, you can get them rebuilt by a brake specialist or a wrecker would be a cheaper option. They are very easy to replace, hardest part is bleeding them which is what I suspect is wrong with yours.

Check all your hydraulic connections for seepage . If you find nothing leaking, check where the rod goes into the master cylinder under the dashboard...If still nothing, I'd change the master cyl, as it is likely internally bypassing and permitting the clutch to release. PS it takesa a special "touch" to shift gears without using the clutch, if you cannot do that don't drive it Till you get it fixed...you will damage synchros and will need to have trans removed and rebuilt. $$$you don't want to spend!!!
