If I remember correctly (long time ago so rate me kindly even for the suggestion). i think you turn the key for the helmet lock (on side of bike). it might turn one way for helmet lock and the other for the seat lock. Same key as ignition.

Seat locks do get rusty and sticky. If it is not moving, try prying up the right side of the seat a bit to look under to see if you can unlatch it manually by moving anything under there. Also try the BMWbikes forum for suggestions - it has been a long time for me. Those guys live it every day.

The ride height of my 1987 BMW K100 RT is too high, I have a 29inch inside leg and need to lower the bike to get my feet flat on the ground

Hi, Anonymous here are some options for lowering your bike depending on your needs and wallet:
1. Rear shock lowering kit.
2. Front fork lowering kit.
3. Shorter rear shocks.
4. Shorter front forks.
5. Thinner padded seat.
6. Lower profile tires.
Please be aware that some of these options or a combination of options will require a shorter kickstand or your stock one modified. For more information about your issue, please visit the websites below. Good luck and have a nice day.

Bmw k75c fuelpump fault &or remove

Hi, Tonyhickey52 if your bike has been sitting idle for months or years and you did not do any pre-storage maintenance I feel your pain it will probably have a dead battery and not want to start or if it starts it will idle and run poorly, here are the following steps necessary to complete in order to get your bike back to an acceptable running condition.
1. If your battery was 3 years or older when you last had the bike running you should replace it.
2. If you believe your battery might still be serviceable remove it from the bike and put it on a 1 or 2 amp trickle charger for 24 hours. If it is the old lead acid type with visible cells and acid levels fill each cell to the top line with distilled water and replace the caps, run the vent tube into a plastic or styrofoam cup, any cells that are cloudy/milky replace the battery.
3. After charging remove the leads and let the battery sit for a couple of hours then check the battery voltage with a volt meter, you should have 12.5 volts or better, any readings in the 11 volt range you need to do a proper load test on the battery and replace as necessary, any readings in the 10 volt range you have a dead cell and replace the battery.
4. Drain and flush fuel tank, google " how to clean a motorcycle gas tank" find a couple forums to view the different options available.
5. Remove your air cleaner and clean and re-oil per Mfg. specifications.
6. Remove the carburetor, disassemble and decontaminate with a carb dip or if you have EFI remove injectors and clean with carb spray and compressed air
7. Remove fuel valve and filter disassemble and clean as necessary, remove fuel lines and replace with new ones.
8. Replace spark plug with a new one and check for spark.

Hi, Ssopher for this situation I would call my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix, answers, or parts inquiry. If necessary, transport your bike to the dealer or shop and have a professional technician take it for a test drive, if it is in running condition, and give you a written estimate of repairs and answer any specific questions you may have about your issue. My 1987 K100 LT Fuel hoses.

It isn't the most straightforward without diagams. The system is under pressure as it is EFI, so firstly you need to depressurise it. This involves removing the battery before doing anything else. In order to replace the pipe, you need to remove the whole tank, this procedure takes up 2 and a half pages of the Clymer manual - I would recomend you either purchase the manual or get it into a BMW service centre.
