SOURCE: www.piaggio.com

headlight bulbs typically install from the backside of the light assembly. You will have to remove body work, panels etc. to access tha back of the headlight, pull back the rubber boot and usually a spring wire clip is hinged across the bulb holding it in place. un clip the wire and replace the bulb.

I'm looking to buy a 2006 Piaggio Fly 150. I was told that the Valve adjustment service 6000 miles would be coming up and would cost about $200 - $300 does that sound about right.

Hi, Lori it all depends on your location a Piaggio Dealer in downtown San Francisco might charge $100 hr. labor plus parts and tax and various misc. shop fee's whereas a Dealer in Sleepyville Georgia might only charge $60 hr. I believe a 6K service is a major service that should flat rate around 2 hrs. so 2-3 hundred dollars is in the ballpark do your homework, check going prices at different shops if you have that luxury and take someone competent with you to look over the scooter and shed some light on whether it's a good deal or not. You can always use the cost of the pending service as a bargaining chip for price haggling. My email address is at the bottom get back to me with details and I can steer you in a safe financial direction, I was a Harley Tech for 35 years and my first scooter was a Vespa. Piaggio fly 125 tries to start but then makes a constant noise like a car revving.

Hi, Mark the starter drive/Bendix is a mechanical gear driven component that engages the clutch pack ring gear to turn over the engine. It has an internal mechanism that allows the gear to turn in one direction and once the engine starts allows the drive gear to free spin. If gear free spins in both directions then the drive gear has failed it is not serviceable and needs to be replaced. Piaggio fly 150 rain issues

Hi, Maya moisture, condensation, rain, or bike washing can make the bike run sluggish, not able to rev, and misfire. Older bikes, engine configuration, and exposed electrical components are at the front of the line for acting up. During the diagnostic procedure spray Electrical Contact Cleaner on corroded wire connectors/pins/sockets etc. and apply a liberal amount of "DIELECTRIC" grease to the mating harness/wire connectors. WD40 works great for eliminating suspect areas in your quest to find the real offending gremlin.
For additional insurance you can spray a High Temp Clear Coat on the most vulnerable areas it will work like Scotch Guard does on fabric. Fabricate a rubber or plastic splash guard to deflect water coming off the front wheel getting to the front cylinder spark plugs. The design should be adequate for its purpose with the least amount of airflow restriction to cool the cylinders. The usual suspects are:
1. Air filter soaked with water.
2. Water in the fuel system gas tank and carburetors.
3. Wet ignition coil packs.
4. Spark plug boots wore out or loose allowing water to enter.
5. Spark plug cables old and cracked check for spark leakage in the dark.
6. Spark plug wells filled up and drain holes clogged.
7. Water in a wire harness that has exposed open ends and have a sharp bend or crimp allowing the liquid to form its own pool of potential threats to chaffed wiring.
8. Sensitive fuel tuners and downloaded ECM remaps may get confused with the abnormal cylinder temperature difference in a V-4 engine configuration.

I have a 09 Piaggio Fly 50. When I bought it, the battery was run down from lack of use and extreme cold (I used to live in the Rockies). I could never start it from the starter button, but always with a...

Hi, Jkranowitz before testing any electrical component in the Starter Circuit it is "IMPERATIVE" that you have a fully charged battery of 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test because your battery may have 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amps causing the battery to be faulty and must be replaced, especially "AGM" batteries.
1. Ignition Switch not in the "ON" position.
2. Engine Run Switch in the "OFF" position.
3. Check the battery terminals for damage or corrosion check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter.
4. Bank angle sensor needs a reset or is faulty.
5. FOB battery low or dead.
6. Faulty ignition switch.
7. Faulty starter button.
8. Faulty kickstand or clutch pull in switch/sensor.
9. Security alarm needs a reset.
10. Starter relay, solenoid or starter circuit wiring faulty.
11. Starter armature or field coils have failed.
12. Main fuse or circuit breaker may be blown or faulty.
13. The electric starter is working but starter clutch has failed.
14. Check for engine trouble codes.
