See if you are getting power at the hand control switches. Check for any fuses in line with the motor.

My Makita DSS610 18v cordless circular saw stopped working mid cut. I changed the battery to another, fully charged, one but still nothing. Tried again next day, with both batteries, still nothing.

Hello Derek, it seems that your motor or motor brushes have failed please contact the manufacture about replacing the motor brushes.

Not charging battery alt meter reads 11.49 wont go higher

In case battery is Bad. Stop Engine
Try a substitute Battery... Just use Jumpers Cables with main battery disconnected. Restart
If no change in Voltage (should go up to 13.8 to 14Volts) then your Alternator is Bad. (Belt Not Slipping?)
The Voltage regulator is usually built into the Alternator these days. So...Remove Alternator.
Either Repair it.
Place in Vice. Mark the case next to the screws with a scratch so it lines up on re assembly. Undo screws & Separate.
Faults Usually - Brushes, Diodes or Regulator
Check Brushes are not worn down too far to make contact.
If replacing brushes you will need to make a brush hook to hold brushes back on reassembly. Look for small hole to insert brush holder until both halves are back together.
or Get a Rebuilt one with warranty.

Not charging change rectifier still don't charge

the rectifier has nothing to do with the charge rate of an alternator . It simply changes the ac current produced by the alternator into dc for the battery and electronics. If the alternator is still not charging then the regulator would be the thing to change along with the brushes

Have the charging system checked. The alternator may need testing.

Hi. I bought a Makita cordless drill, model 8391D. Whilst drilling a pilot masonry hole it suddenly stopped. The battery had only just started to slow so I changed it anyway to a fully charged one and the...

I would try changing the brushes and use compressed air I would blow out all the dust and lint I could from around motor.
If this does not help I would return for guarntee replacement. Thank you.

Shaver was running slow and then died. Replaced

Your original symptoms sure sound like dying batteries. Brushes can wear out. Check if it runs better if you change the orientation of the shaver. Does holding it upside down make it work better or worse? If the speed changes, its probably the brushes. You can buy new brushes, but the Norelco repair place will probably give you a hard time since they want to repair it for you so you have to insist. I have made brushes for the shaver by filing down brushes from some other motor, but this is messy and doesn't always work.

new brushes rectifier and voltage regulator. The dynamo delivers 14V up to excactly 4000 rpm no charging over 4000rpm at all Do i need to change to rotor in the dynamo ?More likely: a) one of the new parts you put on is defective b) you put one (or more...) of them on wrongly If you had the rotor off, make sure it is properly back on and running concentric with the shaft. _Possibly_ it is running with a wobble and bouncing the brushes off the slip rings.,,,
