CHECK VALVE CLEARANCES(INTAKES MOSTY) IS IT ONLY HARD TO START AFTER IT HAS BEEN RUNNING(HOT) OR IS IT HARD TO START COLD TOO?

It sounds like you got some corrosion going on, on the ground side. I would start with the battery cables first and see if they need cleaned up, then go to the connectors and unplug them and clean if necessary and put die-electrical grease in the sockets of the connectors before plugging them back in. I am assuming that the shifter is electrically assisted if there are problems going on with it as well...this is what makes me believe that it is a bad ground due to setting maybe in a damp inviroment.

Testimonial: "Great feedback and it has given me a different avenue to look that I had not thought of. The response was quick and not only did ?lylerwh? provide the direction to look he furthered explained what his decision was based on. Thanks "
It sounds as if the timing is out. But having a manual will do you no harm. There is only a 98 one available (unless I missed it) so good luck.

Did you check spark before or after the spark plugs? Replace the plugs (or at least check their gaps). Also remember, you need three things for ignition: air, fuel, spark. You've been checking fuel and spark, but not mention of decent air flow. Is your air filter plugged?

My yamaha grizzly 660 will not go past 1/4 throttle without sounding like it is drowning out or starving for fuel. I changed the plug checked gap and cleaned air filter. It was running great then i hit a little burm jump and thats when it started acting up. please help because we use this machine a bunch here on the ranch.
