Replaced intake gskts sprayed crbs replaced kill tarter cntrl cranked engine sprayed wd40 in carbs. doesnt want to fire chirping sound coming from carb area on L side bought the bike non running help

1st make sure the fuse is good under seat near battery !! then take out one spark plug and rest it near metal (don't hold it !! ) and crank engine over (key on) do u see a blue spark on end ?? if so you have fire , if not you need to go further to see why , connectors on plugs I find are the \\biggest problem on bikes now , seems they don't make em water proof !! and everyone tries to avoid it but they allways do get caught out in the rain sometime !! the rain doesn't effect em right away takes a few days then the little pins in there get what looks like "baby powder" on them that's the bad stuff it all needs to come off !! bike don't run till there clean and bright again !!

Oil got change. Bike will not start. Change the plugs in it. Check for spark. Act like it want to start but it won't start

if theres a spark at the spark plug then your problem is with fuel. take out spark plug and pour a cap full of fuel down the hole, put plug back in and try to start it. if the bike starts you could be lucky and it will keep running. if it dose not then you need to check fuel lines and carb.... putting a bit of fuel in the head should fire the bike up and hopefully fill the carb and lines to keep it going

Two quickies please: How do I know the oil level in a '98 Speedfight 100? (seems not to have a dipstick attached to the cap). Also, How do I remove the spark plug? Not been started for 2...

to remove the spark plug remove the h/t cap from the top of it and you will need a deep set socket to reach it if you havent got one maybe you could borrow one? it need to be a thinner type
also the oil level when its low the oil light will come on on the dash and i allways top the oil up untill you can see it

hope this helps

oh yes if the bike has been sitting for 2 years then the petrol will have degraded and be useless and the carb will need a clean

The bike has no spark going to the sparkplug. it has a kickstart and it also has a switch on the left hand side of the bikes handle bares. its also a thumpstars but i couldnt find it on the list.

i would check the coil packs a old school way to do that is to take the the spark plug wire off the spark plug put a screw driver in it with any thing but a metal handle in it and then touch the frame of the bike with the screw driver still in the spark plug wire and try to start it . if there is a spark the coil is good and to test the spark plug simply take the spark plug out the cylinder head connect it to the spark pug wire and trie to start it if see a spark comeing from the spark plug is also good

The scooter is hard to start in the spring after an inactive winter. This spring it would not turn over let alone, start. I have replaced the battery and added a float charger. The engine turns over...

i allways start at the begining with this type of problem

when you charged the battery did you check to see if there is 12 volts?
have you checked that all the wires are attched to the battery?
have you replaced the spark plug?
checked the fuse should be just above the battery will be inside a clear plastic cover
put a meter on the battery and try and start the bike and see if there is a drain to earth

if none of these cures the problem then check the cdi unit trace the h.t lead from the spark plug to the unit maybe you will have to remove the side plastic to get to it there will be a plug with 2 wires inside it put a meter on them and see if there is voltage if there is then the cdi unit is fault

hope this helps

Bike wont start.good spark to plugs.fuel pump working. side stand switch fine. neutral switch fine.

i have the same bike try this. Firstly check the fuel is fairly fresh, using premium fuel on this model seems to work well. drain a little fuel from each carb to remove poss water build up and get fresh fuel. if spark plugs over 6 months old or over 5000 miles change as zxrs` eat plugs a spark does not mean it is allways good. i have changed to irridium plugs and have not had problems since . before you take out plugs turn over the engine a few times then when you remove each plug they should be wet ,if one is dry no fuel so clean carb, remove plug caps before you do this and note exact location of each.good luck Bri.
