SOURCE: 1978 Electra-Glide Starter initionally catches,
sounds like the starter is bad. if access to it easy for you then it can be removed and taken to your local repair shop and rebuilt. Or try locateing one on ebay.
SOURCE: Rear fuel line at the tank is leaking
The connection is a quick dissconnect, I unpluged the line by pushing up on the bottom of the fitting and pulling down on the retainer . This allowed me to unplug the line. I then removed the fitting that was threaded into the tank and found the rubber "O" ring was bad, I replaced the "O" ring and put the parts back together. ( i sprayed a little WD 40 on the Quick dissconnect and applied a small amount of "O" ring lube to the ring prior to putting everything back together )
SOURCE: Front fork seal is leaking
Yep, drain the fork oil, raise the front wheel in the air, remove the front wheel and axle. The nut to remove the lower leg is at the bottom, hidden by the axle. If it still leaks after seal replacement your fork tubes and lower leg sliders are worn out. Reassemble and remove the top fork cap. Pour in the correct cc of fork oil and ride.
SOURCE: adding a factory intercom on a Electra Glide Classic
Yes, It's pretty expensive, I would talk with someone at a dealer who really know exactly whats involved. you may be better served by using Cardo's Scalia Teamset. I'd just go for the FLHTCU personally, 4 speakers, cb, intercom, fairing lowers, better resale.
SOURCE: I keep blowing the accessory fuse on my electra glide
I'd say that you have an intermittant short somewhere. These are very difficult to find. I'd start at the tail light assembly as most of the time, I've found the shorts in that area, from the seat back to the tail light assembly.
Good Luck
