SOURCE: we have a Kawasaki GE5000

there are several componants that need to be checked. you will need to know how to use a volt ohm meter to check the generating parts. there should be a rectifier and capacitor to check. then you need to check the field for a beak in the wire or if it is grounded. then you need to check the armature for a break in the wire. some armatures have diodes in the wiring and those need to be checked. then you need to check the outlet itself and the breaker. there are a lot of things to check.

Either a burnt out generator or a faulty regulator/ rectifier,on a z it's more likely to be the generator, try a website called z power for spares.

What is the cause of low charging

Get the battery tested first, if it has 1 bad cell it may appear fully charged on the read out on a charger but 15 miles down the road it can just die off, running the bike on 3 cyls, then cutting out all together, one other point to make is you can buy brand new batteries that can be duds, so if you do get one consider someone local to you so you can take it back. Other checks to make are the bikes charging system is the generator, this will give a specific read out on continuity testers (trawl the net for the spec) and its not unusual for a generator to reach the end of its life sooner than people think. I,ll see if I can find out what the generator read outs should be. so email me with your email. markj3594@gmail.com

1996 Kawasaki VN 750 Vulcan cut out while riding

Hi, Anonymous and the usual suspects are:
1. Severely discharged or a damaged battery must have 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test if necessary, you may have a preliminary reading of 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amperage the battery is faulty and must be replaced, AGM batteries fail in this scenario more so than lead-acid batteries.
2. Faulty alternator/generator and or voltage regulator.
3. Loose or corroded battery terminals and or cables especially the "NEGATIVE" cable, look for loose, corroded, or broken connectors inside the cable harness at "BOTH" ends.
4. Faulty main circuit breaker or ignition switch, check for loose connections and continuity.
5. Faulty system and or ignition relay, check for continuity.
6. Faulty ignition coil, ignition/electronic module.
7. Faulty CKP, CPS, CMP, MAP, TPS, or BAS sensor, corroded, loose or broken wire connector pins/sockets.
8. Throttle cables and or idle speed improperly adjusted hot idle speed should be 950 RPM to 1000 RPM.
9. Faulty neutral, side stand or clutch lever safety switch.
10. Fuel tank empty
11. Fuel tank contaminated with ethanol sludge.
12. Water or dirt in the fuel system, or clogged filter.
13. Restricted, blocked or kinked fuel line.
14. Faulty fuel pump.
15. Faulty pressure regulator.
16. Faulty or clogged fuel injectors.
17. Lean angle switch is faulty or needs adjustment.

What is the proper oil and quantity used for a Kawasaki GE5000 AS generator

Can I just point out how NO ONE WHO ANSWERED paid attention to the fact that this question is about A KAWASAKI GENERATOR!? NOT A MOTORCYCLE!! Also, the filler cap will be on the lower region of the generator, with the image of an oil can on it, much resembling the oil filler cap on almost all engines, but smaller. I also though am wondering the proper viscosity and quantity thereof, and these "answers" were FAR from helpful...
