Question about 1996 Triumph Trident 900
I have a '96 Trident with 24,000 miles on it. It's running great. I Live in Philadelphia PA and want to go to bike week in Florida this March. Anyone have experience riding say 1000 miles in two days, Running around town, then 1000 miles back? I did it on a Yamaha 650 back in 2000 and had no problem, it had 5000 miles on it, but it was Japanese. I've been told the Trident 900 is one of the most over engineered bikes ever. I assume that means for dependability. What's the most likely problem I might have? Not counting a sore bum. I don't want to get stuck in South Carolina...
U cud chec service bulletins or recalls--bring a tire repair system and hav a deer warning whistle-they often run across roads------I take breaks often-its more enjoyable--had a 650 stil feel the shoulder pain from those dam bars

SOURCE: stuck in gear
ry useing blue LOCTITE on the pinch bolts and other fasteners to keep the shifter from vibrating loose again. I had the shift linkage vibrate loose on my Thruxton when it was new, I had to fix it on the road to get home.

SOURCE: TORS question
I think you'll be allright. When I put TORS on my bike, I found that I hardly needed any extra jetting at all. I put in slightly larger jets and I am now running fairly rich, so i would think the EFI can handle it. Give your dealer a call maybe.

SOURCE: seems like bike is running rich
The idle problem sounds like an idle adjustment. The surge may be the throttle cable, try spraying a lubricant from the top of the cable and work it back and forth to loosen and release any debris.

I have just found my 30 amp fuse blown on my daytona , this prevents the alternator working , it was reading 10.9v before I changed the 30 amp fuse , now it reads 14.5 volts , I think I blew it as I didnt know how to put the alarn into service mode and left the ignition on , anyway I am hoping its just that , 3 heat up/cool down cycles and the engine management light should go out
