Starter remove and install

Hi Anonmyous, you are going to need tools to work on your bike, the first and very best tool you will ever buy should be a factory service manual, trust me it will almost always pay for itself the very first time you use it. That being said here is the short version: Disconnect battery, drain primary and remove cover, starter jackshaft bolt, all wires and cables connected to starter, starter mounting bolts, remove starter and anything in its way to facilitate extraction. Good luck

What tools do i need to remove to starter from 97 blazer

Just common tools. A boxed ended wrench to remove the electrical connections, and a socket, extension, and ratchet to remove the bolts holding the starter on . Make sure to disconnect the battery positive cable before attempting to remove the starter. Remember how the cables are connected to the starter.

How to install a starter in a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited?

This is a pretty easy job if you have the correct tools.

1. disconnect the battery
2. remove the power connector from the starter
3. remove two bolts holding the starter on (they bolt into the bellhousing)
4. remove starter
5. replace starter.
6. install two bolts
7. reinstall wire harness
8. reconnect battery.
It is not a bad job at all...just make sure you have a tool set. The hardest part for me was that the bolts were really tight so you may need a 1/2" dr ratchet. Also, before you reinstall the bolts, make sure you clean them and use locktight so they don't vibrate loose

Good day allen,
raise your vehicle high enough to slide under. make sure you support the vehicle when raised.
Now some voyagers have a plastic shield underneath for protection. Remove this shield.
Remove the positive from the battery, Make sure all your tools are near you. remove the wires from your
starter and take note how the are seated. With a ratchet, remove the two bolts.that hold the starter in place

I need to replace my starter what tools do i need ?and what is the easiest way to remove it?

Disconnect negative battery terminal. Remove air cleaner assembly and battery. Then you can remove the 15mm bolt holding the upper part of the starter to the bell housing. Next raise the vehicle by jack on jack stands or suitable support. Remove lower bolt from starter and then you will be able to lower it enough to access the wiring to the starter. Be sure to retain the shim that goes between starter and housing. Install is reverse of removal.

Need directions to change a starter on a 94 cadillac deville. 4.9 liter engine. How difficult with a floor jack in the driveway

Depending on your mechanical ability, it can be considered fairly easy. If you're working in your driveway,PLEASE be sure to block the wheels so you don't get crushed under the car.

Gather the necessary tools needed such as wrenches, sockets, screwdriver and pliers.
Place the vehicle on ramps or jack up the front and support with jack stands. It is very important to block the rear wheels to keep the car stationary during this procedure. Never work under a vehicle not supported properly
Make sure ignition is OFF and the remove the negative (ground) battery cable from the battery.
Note the location of all wires before removal to make for easier connection.
Remove the large starter cable going to the battery at the starter location.
Remove any other wires attached to the solenoid.
Remove the starter attaching bolts (usually there are two or three).
Remove any supporting brackets that holds the starter.
Drop the starter down away from the car. On some cars you may have to turn the wheels to one side, remove the idler arm, remove or loosen transmission oil cooler lines, exhaust pipes, or ground straps to give you enough clearance to get the starter motor away from the car.
Install the new starter in the reverse order of removal.
Reconnect battery cables and other wires to solenoid.
Place old starter in the new starter box for proper core return.
