Frustrating. I had the Python 533 installed on my 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid and I've taken the vehicle back to the installer three times since install Dec. 2012. I lock the vehicle with the remote starter. When I press the start button, the vehicle will start (the count down timer will not appear), the vehicle will stop, start again, then stop three times. Then stays off. I don't want to take it back without having more information...help is appreciated.
There are three possibilities for the situation you are describing especially if the vehicle has been cold for a while. The first possible cause occurs when the smart tach feature is used. In this case, the 533 is not receiving the proper signal from the vehicle that shows the engine is running. The remedy for this problem is to connect the tach wire from the 533 a proper tach source. The other two causes occur when the smart tach feature is not used and the tach wire is connected. If the tach wire is not connected to a good source for the tach signal in which case the wiring will need to be corrected. Otherwise, the tach signal will need to be relearned.

usually a combination of 2 buttons so the car doesnt start accidentally.
Depending on the number of output channels - the installer could have installed on any of the channels and that would dictate which buttons to press.
if it is not set on the AUX (output 2) button, then try...
You have not given the model # of the unit - so these are viper's STANDARD remote controm configurations.
CLICK HERE to enter your correct model # and Download your instruction manual.
Hope this helps.

it sounds like the tach needs to be relearned.....if it's still connected. find your valet button, start the truck with the key, then push the valet button down for at least five seconds, the led should light up solid if the tach is learned, once the led lights up you can release the valet button and turn off the truck. it should remote start fine. hope that helps

Make sure that the neutral safety wire (small black with white) sees a chassis ground. If you connected the toggle switch to the wire, confirm that the other side of that wire is connected to a good ground. Confirm that the hood pin switch wire (gray) is NOT seeing ground during remote start. All of the above are relevant for a vehicle with an automatic transmission. If the clicking sound that you hear is also flashing the parking lights, that is a remote starter error message. Six flashes concern the hood shutdown (-) or the brake shutdown(+). Seven flashes concern the neutral safety shutdown.
