Test your fuel system for VOLUMETRIC FLOW. Measured amount of fuel for x amount of time. Not sure what the spec is, but what happens is a filter in the tank clogs and restricts flow (I assume you have replaced the fuel filter...).
So the system often can pass the fuel pressure test, but not the volume test.... It is easy to observe.

SOURCE: Hi, I have a 1976

It is possible, it is called negative pressure. The canister at the fuel tank prevents this as well as a tight fuel cap. Either that or the fuel pump has weakened due to low power (check the relay) or the pump itself had weakened.

When i start my bakkie it starts but as soon as i give petrol it cuts out

Try moving the engine wiring harness around while it is idling does it stall? This could also be distributor related like a defective pick up coil.

My 1995 bantam bakkie starts jerking when I take it over 80km\h and reeks of petrol. Is it the carburator?

it sounds like it could be the carb is plugged or you may need to replace the fuel filter and/or fuel line somewhere

Can somebody please supply me with info regarding my Opel Bakkie 2004, 1.4 I timing (firing order) & valve timing settings. It misses profusely & throw petrol onto plugs

You can get a Hanes Manual for your vehicle at any PepBoys auto center. It will give you ALL specs for your engine.

I drive a Nissan 1400 bakkie (not a champ) i drives good and then starts jerking and wants to die as soon i i give petrol it sounds like its smothering

hi, personally ..i love that bakkie. Ok you changed points condensor, petrol filter! please check.. When it cuts out 1. if the ignition coil is not hot, if so thats your problem.2. also on the carb... over the needle and seat there is a tiny filter... somtimes gets blocked. 3. also check when it stolls if the fuel pump is not hot or pull the outlet fuel from the pump
and crank the engine... note if fuel comes out sufficiently.

98 opel corsa 1.4 bakkie fuel consumption is high and cuts out

Sounds like a fuel pressure regulator problem. Pull a spark plug and see if it is black on the end.

Hi, Our ISUZU 280 KB doesn't get diesel through..if you start the bakkie it initially starts but the engine quickly dies even if you floor the accellerator. If you press the "manual diesel pump"

Blockclogs easily if you get some water in the diesel.age in fuel system. Remove both pipes from tank to pump and blow. If clogged replace. Also check fuel filter. That thing
