Well Im hoping that by telling you to check your cruise control wiring and vacuum routing for broken, unplugged wires or vacuum hoses you just might find that a simple vacuum line is in need of attention. good luck

If you have a four wheel drive Sportage, you will destroy your transmission by towing the vehicle with the rear wheels on the road and the engine not running. The problem is that the wheels will spin the transmission, causing wear on it since there is no transmission oil flowing while the vehicle engine is not running. You can, however, remove the rear driveshaft from the Sportage and that will allow you to safely use a tow dolly, since the rear wheels will be free spinning.
SOUND LIKE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS THE ALTERNATOR ON LOWER SIDE OF THE ENGINE.IF INNER FENDER SPLASH SHIELD MISSING WHEN DRIVING ON WET ROADS WATER WILL GET THROWN THROUGH INNER FENDER WELLS FROM CAR TIRES IF SPLASH SHIELD NOT IN PLACE WATER CAN SHORT ALTERNATOR OUT AND GET THE IGNITIONS COMPONENTS WET CAUSING ENGINE PROBLEMS.IF A AUTO ZONE OR ADVANCE AUTO PARTS STORE NEAR BY GET THEM TO SCAN CAR THEY WILL DO IT FREE TO SEE WHAT CAUSING CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON.
Check with your DMV regulations, different states allow different things. You would need to have a towing cable to hook up to it so that the lights in the rear would work with your RV. I would suggest getting a tower for the vehicle that would keep the front two tires off the ground so that your odometer doesn't rack up miles. Let me know if this helps.
