SOURCE: 2000 Road Glide fuel leak at elbows just below fuel tank

Yes, more than likely you have defective o-rings. Harley will try to sell you the complete assy.
Remove and replace the o-ring seals, make sure you use o-rings that are compatible with gasoline. Many of the "regular black" o-rings are butyl-rubber, which will break down in gasoline.
The Buna-N (nitrile) or Viton o-rings i recommend for gasoline.

Good luck, i hope this helps.

SOURCE: gas leak from quick connect on gas line under tank

Hi, there is an o-ring (or possibly 2 o-rings) inside the female QD fitting. Replace the o-ring and make sure the return spring is pulling the fitting closed. If not, replace the line/fitting.
Thanks for using FixYa.

Is it coming from the inside of the connector or between the connector and the tank? If its between tank and connector its an O-ring issue. If its internal of the connector you will need to replace the whole Connector.

Gas tank reserve valve

Recently, my quick disconnect started to leak...leak pretty profusely actually. Anyway, the Harley dealership tried to sell me an entire new quick disconnect. I insisted that there had to be an o-ring inside the disconnect, but the parts guy swore that there was not. After refusing to spend $58 on a new disconnect, I drained the fuel from the tank, removed the disconnect, and removed the cracked o-ring (the one that the parts guy said did not exist). A quick trip to the local parts store and I found the o-ring for under $1.
Just be sure to ask for one that is fuel resistant.

if I remember correctly, it's the same size o-ring as the oil drainplugs...a #41 I think.

$6.99 for the HELP o-ring kit at your local Advance Auto Parts has the o-ring you need...in fuel grade too.

Seeping like a connection at the quick disconnect is loose on one of the fittings? Or leaks alot like not connected all the way and a fuel injected Harley wont start? Or leaks alot like the quick connect fitting is broken internaly or has dirt in it?

Quick release on fuel tank leaks

Yes they are a problem. You can try to take it apart clean it and reconnect but it's probably the o-ring inside. Looks like a trip to Harley is in order.
