i,m not sure about kawasaki, but honda change things slightly every 2 years ust enough to make this sort of thing hard to do,,if you can offer one up from a friends bike and see what it needs ,it might mean making some bracket changes, try a motorcycle breaker and see if they can help.

Hi, Brandon my guess is you have a faulty spark plug or spark plug wire/cable or ignition coil or wiring to the coil is corrupt, check the ohm reading on your plug wires/cables for more information about your question and valuable "FREE" downloads that you will need please click on the links below. Sputtering when driving down the road back off throttle then bike seem's ok but when apply throtle start's back to sputtering

That sounds like it could be a fuel mixture problem and is too weak. It could even be wrong spark gaps on the plugs. Check the plug gaps first. should be 25thou.

What are the stock spark plugs for a 1998 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 Classic?

The stock plug was an NGK-DPR6EA9. However, some bikes had NGK-DPR5EA9 as stock. I would start with the ...6EA9 and then go to the ...5EA9 if a hotter plug is needed.

Please rate this solution. Thanks!
