Do you have the kickstand up when you put it in gear? Many bikes have a lockout on the side stand to prevent you riding away with the stand down. Kills the engine instantly when placed in gear with the stand down.
Hi dont know if this helps but i had a problem with my freewind when i put the bike in gear it would run in tickover but when in tried to rev the bike it cut out, the problem was the cut off switch on the side stand you can test this by finding the wire, disconect at at a connection and use a piece of wire to compleat the circuit that solved the problem for me i just left it by passed.
hope it helps Neil
The problem is the side stand cut out switch - it allows you to start the bike to warm it up on the side stand but if you true to ride off with the side stand down the bike will cut out reminding you the stand is down.
If you bike is cutting out when putting it into gear after starting it is definitely the cut out switch - check the side stand there will be a switch around it some where close to were it bolts onto the frame.
how about replacing the fuse by the battery it is a master fuse and thats what it sounds like
since all lights and bike runs after a bump it sounds like a master fuse problem
if not check your batterie ground it might be cut or loose
Hi! Although the switch is not connected it is still reading an open circuit you need to bridge the wires (Connect/join them) closing it so the inhibitor doesn't cut off the ignition. If you don't want to bridge the wires try keeping the button of the switch in? Remember however you do this it may come out whilst riding and cut the engine possibly in a dangerous manoevre?? or overtaking causing drastic results. There you go, sorted!
