Well it could be a couple of things, 1st. It could be a bad ground take ground wire off clean contact were grounded and see if that works. if not then i would try your brake light actuator switch. this is all on a circuit if this is faulty then this could be a problem hope this helps

Tail lights stopped worked

The tail light or parking light is a different circuit from the turn signal and brake.
The tail light is the same as the parking light in front.
It could be a fuse or a problem with the headlight switch.

Subaru outback wagon tail light not working off

There are several components of your 1997 Subaru Outback that can cause your tail lights to stop functioning correctly. To help pinpoint the cause of the problem, it would be very helpful to also check your front marker lights. If the marker lights are working, then we know that the problem is not the headlamp switch or the tail and illumination relay (located in the fuse and relay box).

The components to check are:

> Fuse #23 (20 Amp) in the Main Fuse Box.
> Fuse #5 (10 Amp) in the Fuse and Relay Box
> Tail And Illumination Relay
> Headlamp Switch

All indicators have stopped working

You have the wrong bulb in!

The bulb with the offset pins is a stop / tail bulb, it has two elements and two contacts on the bottom. Typically they are 5 watts element for the taillight and 18 or 21 watts for the stoplight. The offset pins make it so it will only go in one way so the contacts line up to the correct function of Stop light or Tail light. Some cars have combination stop tail bulbs, some have a single 18 watt bulb at the back. The FRONT light indicators are always a single element.

You can see the two elements, the two contacts and the two offset pins in this image.

Tail light doesn't light but tail light warning light on dash does and brake light works.

Try checking to see if the tail light bulb and brake light bulb are one and the same; this usually means that the bulb has two filaments; one for the tail lights and a second filament (brighter) for the stop/brake light.

If one filament has burned out, change the bulb.

I hope this helps.

Have a great day !!!

2001 odyssey no tail lights but break lights work.

Check the lamps first to see if both are good, do a wiggle test to see if the lamp's socket is good(sometimes they get too hot and the contacts spread open). Next check fuses for the running lights and break lights. If the running lights work on the front but not on the back then its not a fuse its a ground issue. Use a stick or another person to depress the break pedal to check for power at the plug that goes to the stop/running light lamp.

One of the tail light bulbs can be shorted internally.  Replace the tail light bulbs first.  Try this cheap fix first.

Headlights & tail lights are not working suddenly check fuses

Have you checked the relays?
Even if a fuse is good, a failed relay will prevent power from reaching the lights.

Compare what you've checked with this photo of the fusebox assembly, just to make sure.
