CBR 250R Not Starting

I just bought a CBR 250R 1988. The first couple of times starting it was a little difficult but it always got going. It has just been road worthied and serviced before hand over.

I turn ignition on, and press ignition button but it just wont kick over. I try with a little choke and rev it a bit, still nothing. Sometimes it will almost start but just not enough.

Any ideas?

Am I starting the bike incorrectly? How should I start the bike. (yes might sound a little dumb)

Thanks!

Better to clean plugs with petrol and a brass wire brush, you may need carbs cleaned out if it has been left sitting with stale fuel in them

You say its see its been serviced if i was you i would buy new plugs if that doesnt work try cleaning carbs and fuel filters and as to starting a 4 stoke they usualy need full on choke in cold weather when you buy plugs get a hotter rated plugs /before you try above take out spark plug/s and brush end that goes into engine with a small wire brush clean well then warm plugs with lighter or burner and replace then try to start bike

How do i assemble rear brake on a honda cbr 250r 1988

Drum brakes are assembled under spring tension. Your particular setup isn't too difficult from the billions of other drum brake systems in millions of other vehicles. So if you can't find a workshop manual to help you, any old diagram of a drum brake should be close enough to give you an idea.

I have a 1993 CBR 400 and im having trouble starting it, i got the carbs cleaned and it started but then a couple of days later it wouldnt start again. Any suggestions what the problem is?

Sounds like the bike sat for a while. Condensation, water built up in the tank. Pull tank, empty out gas. If you can't do that, put in some dry gas. Pulling the tank is not that hard to do, and it the best way. Check the fuel lines, blow them out. Use fuel stabilizer if your putting the bike up for an extended period of time.

I need to find fuse on my 1988 honda cbr 600

fuse box is located under the left front fairing access panel. The top of the fuse box ( or cover) pops off and clicks back on...fuse info is written on the inside of the cover ....i always secure the cover down with a tie-wrap or lockwire around the whole fuse box or you might lose it one day.

Not starting

Don't pull the chock out all the way, more like 3/4. The clicking you are hearing is a low battery & or corrided contacts. The battery its self may may need to be replaced. If its a cell battery, one or more cells may be bad. Take it to a battery outlet & let them test the cells. Most do not charge for this service.
