05 suzuki katana 750 idle issues

I have cleaned a friends carburators for his Katana because it wouldnt start without the choke on. Now the bike will not Idle, just like before with the cleaned carbs in place. I noticed when I blow in the two vent hoses comming from the carbs it works great. All the fuses are good and the bike only has 2000miles on it . Is there a vaccum issue?

Idle issues can be fuel/air (mixture ratio) or igition (spark strength). It sounds like an air restriction issue. If there is no blockage throught the air inake/filter, make sure you adjust the jets to specifications and make sure there are no float issues with the carbs.

What would cause hanging revs/RPMs when the engine is warm? It's a stock 2000 katana 600 with 14k miles. The revs don't hang when the engine is cold.

sounds to me like your carbs may need cleaning and or a rebuild, i had a 750 katana that would do that as well, didnt want to idle when cold, then too fast when warm/hot, gave my carbs a good cleaning and it cleared up, the jets can get plugged really easily, could also be bad gas, any contamination and or particles can cause problems, especially if the bike sits without running for too long, hope this helps =)

Ok, check breather hoses and vac pipes are on tight and not cracked and drawing in air. do you have wd40? Little trick is to spray around the inlet manifold rubbers, if engine smoothes out or revs slightly then this could be an indication of leaking manifold gaskets. taking note of where you spray it and any engine change can direct you to the problem.

Have an 06 Suzuki Katana 750. when I start it with full choke it runs fine, then when I go to ride (choke off) it has a low idle and stalls out. I have to go full choke for it to warm up for over 30 min....

Not for sure but u might try to re jet the bike.i own a 98 suzuki bandit 600s and it also is really cold hearted. those bikes are unfortunately known for that problem.not that it was much help but u might try contacting Dales Holeshot Performance he specializes those types of bikes he also sells the jet kits.
i would also try to adjust the idle slightly higher hope this at least helps

Stalling out

u have the mixture screw wound in to far. its normally located on the bottom of the carb. try winding it out half a turn at a time once the bike has warmed up. also turn the idle screw out a quarter of a turn at the time its in to far thats why it idles at low revs. the choke is needed to keep the air fuel mixture right thats why u are having to leave it on for so long. hope this helps.
