Fan wont come on . 2008 yamaha r1

Hi, Take the relay out of the bike and use a piece of wire to hang it with the sensor in boiling water. Hook an electrical tester to the relay with the tester set on "continuity" test. Add a thermometer to the water for best results. If you don't have a thermometer, Just wait for the water to start boiling. The relay should change from an open circuit to a completed circuit. If the relay never switches, you need a new one.

2006 yamaha roadliner overheating

if it has an electric fan to cool the radiator, it may be a coolant temp sensor, fuse , relay or bad fan
the clue to the problem is when driving in the rain, the water from the road is cooling the radiator so find why the radiator fan is not working

My 2005 Yamaha R6 is overheating at idle...like sitting at red lights.. I wonder if its a temp switch or a blown fuse, or even a wiring problem. Any help?

if your cooling fan is not switching on then i would check fuses then if all fuses are good check for 12V at you cooling fan when temp gets between half and 3/4 way to hot . if you have no voltage it could be a temp sensor or relay . if you have voltage there your fan motor has gone bad and needs to be replaced . another thing to check is the hoses running to the radiator . let the bike idle and warm up and check the temp of the radiator hoses . if one is much cooler than it should be then you might have a bad thermostat on your bike and its not opening enough to let coolant flow at idle. water pump could be going bad as well. if the bike warms up and fan does not kick on untill you rev it up a bit i would check the thermostat and waterpump
